Manufacturing in the US is more expensive than the tariffs. Unions, corporate greed, regulations and taxes (local, state and federal) make the prices ridiculous.

For example with the tariffs the iPhone will now cost $1800, if they make it in the US it will cost $3500.

And as you note that does not factor in the time it will take for the creation of the infrastructure to build them.

Matt and Julie are both correct, WE, the importers, are the ones who pay the tariff, NOT the manufacturer, not China.

We have two choices; eat it all (which Matt pointed out we were all doing in February when it was at 10% and March when it was at 20%, I spent close to 2,000.00 on tariff fees on my wholesale orders for those two months, 2,000.00 that I ate/came out of my profits) or eat some of it and pass part of it on to the customer in the way of a "tariff surcharge."

Now at 104%; game over.

And to top it off, as Julie mentioned, the carriers are now charging us a "tariff processing fee", DHL whacks us for 78.00 on top of the tariff we have to pay.

There is zero sense in importing an order when I will be paying 104% of the value of the order just to bring it into the country, that will wipe out all of my profit even if I pass a portion off to the customer in the form of a tariff surcharge.

Trump has managed to do to the toy soldier industry what the horrific attack on our country on 9/11, hurricane Sandy that hammered NY/NJ/PA, the housing market/stock market crash in 2008 and the Chinese man made COVID virus in 2020 could not do; destroy it.

Not what I said.
Because honestly how can I sell something for the original Retail Price when there is a 104% tariff on it? I'm not going to lose money on every transaction and be able to stay in business. I have a family and bills I also need to pay just like everyone else.
Prices are going to rise if you want me to order in something that is not in stock right now. That is just the fact.

This game of poker being played on the World stage is awful for ALL small businesses.
The raising continues and guess what, the House always wins and we will all lose.

My business was more than fine prior to him being elected; it will be in the toilet for April unless this foolish tariff war ends, I can't make any money without importing goods from China.

Is the business/hobby as good as it used to be; no, it is not, the only thing constant in life is change.
