I had a subliminal message from somewhere to use them...hmmmm had it since Saturday:rolleyes2:, but I know you will use them in a different context. Yes it still my fav tank and yes we have made a vast contribution to the retirement fund of 'B'.....:wink2:Nice one Wayne ... making use of those figures before I borrow them?
That vehicle was, from memory, the first WW2 AFV you bought and the first 'toy vehicle' I picked up in 25 years. I remember being very impressed with it and really thinking what good value it was. We have both spent a lot of money since then!

Thanks Rob, I do enjoy kind comments of course. Just to clarify for some these are just photos not in a true sense Dioramas as done by Gordon or Guy for example and all those other talented guys that are masters of the art, what I do is no more than arrange figures in a certain way and photograph them no more than that. Having said that I do it just for fun and if people like it that's great if not well I don't care. Sorry Rob to use your post for my soap box and in no way are my comments directed at you mate.Nice work Wayne, the look of your ground work and background is seamless, nice one mate{bravo}}

No sympathy for the refugees.................... "
My thought was that they were German refugees and this accords well with a common attitude expressed by Allied soldiers when they moved through Germany. There are many accounts of Germans being booted out of their homes and US or Brit troops trashing the place after they were done being 'billeted'. Some times they encountered situations like German families mistreating their slave labour girl for instance, it made the US boys see 'red'. It was still better than what happened to German refugees in the East....

I think your photos are excellent and have their own unique style. IMO, you have no need to justify how you do displays to suit anyone else's standards. It is difficult to directly compare the top dio makers as what they do is so different. Frank's dios of FL tanks and figures is brilliant. He uses advanced photo techniques and lighting using 3rd party expertly made scenic accessories and Photoshop to create a picture. But his layouts would not be as practical for public display. Guy makes small vignettes with much of the bases and scenic accessories hand made by himself with really excellent repainting of AFVs and figures. They are more for public display rather than as high style photography. UKreb is a mix of the hand made/repainted style and 3rd party accessories like terrain mats and backgrounds. Gordon builds his dios from scratch - a true modeller. Keep in mind - Gordon produceds his dios under some tough constraints. The dios must be interesting and be designed to realistically show off a variety of vehicles as a marketing tool. The same base often is used with vehicles for several different scenarios. The dios must be portable to toy shows which constrains the length and width forcing a multi-level dio to show lots of vehicles and to create a complex but interesting landscape that can be viewed from several directions including some from 360 degrees. Then there are dio makers who just lay out vehicles and figures on a terrain mat (that's me) without even a background. Some just line up figures on a glass shelf.
To each his own depending on his skill and level of interest in how complex and realistic he want's his dio to be.
