Normandy tank commander (2 Viewers)

I agree with Moe and ask again.

Frank Please post a Photo of your figures to show your scale/size compatibility within the range issues.

I stick with my comments made back in post 2 of this thread, sorry if I may have confused newer FL collectors with post 10. That was directed at other FL collectors who have watched this line grow since its first release.

Just received FL tank commander and offer the following size comparisons without comment. From right to left (using manufacturers scale) :

Britains 1/32_____________________ Kronprinz 1/30______________FL 1/30 tank comm.______________1/35 Oryon______________1/32 FOV

Great post Mike, as folks can see there is certainly differences abound here, take Kronprinz/FL both say 1:30?? I think not, or even better Britains and FOV at 1:32?? not even close, I'm not one to worry about scale issues that much as long as they don't look disporportionate next to each other, be it 1:28 to 1:35, the beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and since I'm the only one beholding them here that's all that matters:smile2:...Sammy

Could Jake (below) have been the model for the TC-figure above?

As TS facial-sculpting goes, that looks pretty good to me.

I hope to see a German Normandy tank or Halftrack, to support the Panzer grenadiers. And to go against the Sherman tanks.

....also a Pak-40 would be nice too. The Stalingrad range has the Pak-38. So hoping for an anti-tank gun for the Normandy range too. To again maybe go with the Panzer grenadiers.

Unfortunately there were no Panzer divisions opposite the US until the Panzer Lehr (by the way - with their unique uniforms and a full complement of Panthers and 1/2 tracks they would make a great range of figures - which no one else does, hopefully 1st Legion may address that in the future) moved across from the Anglo-Canadian front. 17th SS PzGren Div had Stug IVs and some JgPz IVs.

Okay, I will be happy with a Stug. Or Wehrmacht troops with a Pak-40. Anything that ties in to Normandy.

I have been looking forward to a Stug for the Normandy range for a while. Just like in Band of Brothers.

I have a K&C Stug (WS-47), which I really like. But would love to have one made by First Legion( I know its a broken record, any Normandy related tank, I would love to add to my collection).

Getting back on topic, I am posting the FL tank commander in a Monogram Sherman (1/32)that I built several years ago as the commander's size seemed appropriate.

I will add to the thread that I picked up a few of the Waffen-SS and when it comes to the officer (NOR013), he is NOTICEABLY larger when compared to the 101st soldiers I have. Anyone else see this unbalance in the size? Kind of upsets me some because I really love First Legion products.

That is interesting, I am starting to buy the Waffen SS. And was going to the 101st next.....I am sorry to hear about the size difference. Thanks, for the info.

It's not to the point to where they are totally incompatible with each other, BUT there is a difference in the size as others have stated.

I probably will wait for the 4th to show up. The FJ looks interesting too. There is just so many choices, the only clear choice that I have had was the Sherman tank. I just wish Matt would announce something so I have a clear idea, of what I will buy. But, Until the 4th show, I guess its going to be a combination of the SS and FJ.

I actually disagree with this. I think tge 101st and the SS fit together very nicely. The FJs on the other hand are open to debate. Here is a pic of the SS officer and one of the 101st.

Considering the 101'st guy has bent knees while the WSS guys is straight legged the 101stfigure if standing straight legged would actually be taller {eek3}. I just don't get it as well they look fine to me, beautiful representatives of the units they represent. It appears scale although measurable and undisputable when done, is totally in the eye of the beholder when not. Congratulations on your fine figures . regards Gebhard

All humans aren't the same height/size.

I just don't see the issue here or in the previous threads on the difference in figure size between the First Legion WW2 ranges. All the figures from all the ranges work fine together. The equipment is all the same size and any slight differences in size or mass are well within the bounds of reality. Actually adds to the realism to me.

Some real life WW2 Germans to illustrate my point:

I think the Tank Commander looks like Bogart in Sahara; which is great. Compared to the size variations in Figarti figures; these are hardly noticable IMHO!

I agree, but would still prefer if the manufacturers were to agree on a Standard measure, so let us say all 1:32 were comparable and so forth...but given that the trade is a de regulated one.....all I say is that as is it is a mess and I really miss being able to mix manufacturers due to this issue...it seems that the guy next to the other is either very slim and short or too high and fat....
Cheers
