For those of you that purchased the Normandy Village from Frontline, here is how I expanded it from a 2' x 2' display to a 4' x 4' display.
(1) Purchase 2 panels of 2' x 4' plywood of 1/2" stock.
(2) Place both pieces side by side, and with a Square pencil out a 1' x 2' notch (to be cut out on either side), with table and jig saw.
(3) Assemble and place village (which has a 1/2" thick base) exactly in the center of a 4' x 4' table, then slot the two 1/2" thick plywood boards on either side.
(4) Pencil out (use a straight edge) the roads that emanate from the village onto the slotted plywood boards, then brown stain or paint the ground area on either side of the penciled roads. The roads should be painted (may need to mix acrylic paints) the same color (with some brownish tint) as the village road.
(5) Place or glue on trees, flock ground areas, place bushes and debris as required or to your taste in expanded area.
(6) You can add, with the expanded board space other ruined buildings or structures as desired to expand village or enhance the scene.
