Hi Guys,

Just a few remarks and replies to ‘posts’ on the forum:

1. New K&C Dioramas

Many thanks for the kind comments about our recent diorama displays on our K&C website. I hope to be showing more of these displays in the near future – look out for them.

Most of them were made by my brother Gordon (with me on the side lines). I believe K&C products really ‘come alive’ when you make a ‘movie set’ to set them in.

I hope to bring 2 or 3 of these to Chicago to show off the new, upcoming K&C releases.

2. New Tanks in 2006

This coming Wednesday, September 16 we’re having one of our regular ‘creative brain storming’ sessions to discuss and plan future ideas and releases for 2006 and beyond!

We’ve already got some pretty good ideas both for additions to existing series and totally brand–new ranges.

I promise you there’s going to be some real ‘goodies’ for K&C collectors in 2006.

And believe me, I’ll be taking into account many of the suggestions from the Forum members and other K&C fans.

3. European Theatre Versions

K&C sales have been growing particularly well in Europe and I believe we’ll be producing more items with a strongly European appeal – ‘Fields of Battle’ is typical of the kind of approach I mean.

We’re not going to neglect U.S. collectors – we’re just trying to satisfy even more of our collectors worldwide.

4. Hachette French Foreign Legion

There’s some great figures in this series – we designed and produced 30 figures for this range and they are pretty good value.

5. CHICAGO

Less than 2 weeks to go to the big event and, boy, am I looking forward to it. I hope to meet up with a whole bunch of you at the show.

Until then, adios for now.

Best wishes,

Andy C

Andy,

Thanks for the very informative post as usual.

Regarding the dioramas I know that in the past you have sold these at the show. Are you planning to do that this time as well?

New tanks are always exciting and will hope that some of these relate to the North African theatre.

I wasn't sure what you meant about not neglecting U.S. collectors because ranges like Field of Battle have a strong interest here (at least for me anyway) and those British soldiers are a very strong addition. I was particularly impressed by the diorama on your site, how all the British soldiers that you have so far produced were used. If you meant that there would be less U.S. soldiers produced, I don't see that as a particularly big problem as the war was fought away from American shores.

Another question I have not mentioned in your post is the British Sherman. 200 will be made available in the U.S. after March. Have you finalized plans on how that will be done and will the cost (approximately $173) be the same as in the UK. Hopefully not.

I am looking forward to seeing you in Chicago and renewing our acquaintance started at Louis' forum.

Cheers.

I have to second Andy,s comment on the Hachette FFL figures. I just got 6 of them yesterday from a person in France. I definetly will try to complete the set. Just wish some how these figures could be made available to U.S. collectors.
Along the FFL line, I,m not one to post suggestions on what to make, but having seen these FFL figures why couldn't there be a similar line such as the uniforms of the USMC or Army.
As if there isn't enough K&C material available in the USA, I have to get more from France.
See you all in Schuamburg.
Gary

The new Dioramas are spectacular, it's one of the many reasons I also collect the brochures.
I've admired those pine trees I've seen repeatedly, they fit so well. I've search high and low for them, were did you get them? I'd love to have a group fpr my displays!

Andy,
You mentioned "brain storming" Sorry but heres one I'd like to see.
A Fieseler Fi 156 "Storch", a german para, Otto Skorzeny and Benito Mussolini for a vinette of his moutain top rescue.

Like Gary now, I once wished all the Del Prado Napoleonics by K&C were available in the U.S. (not just loose items that some U.S. retailers get). However, after examining some of these figures, I decided not get the Del Prado figures -- I have Andy's regular figures to collect!!!

In one of his posts, Andy mentioned that the Del Prado figures belong to Del Prado, and that K&C had no rights to distribute them. I assume K&C has the same type of agreement with Hatchette. On the other hand, Frontline has been distributing the figures they make for Spanish publisher Altaya in the U.S. -- I believe their agreement only excludes distribution in Europe, but not in the rest of the world.

I do not know how hard it is to get a subscription to one of these magazines. Hopefully, one of the U.S. retailers who are members of this forum can get the magazines with figures from the publisher or distributor, then sell them to U.S. collectors (hint, hint).

I think those are Dept 56 because I have a couple like them.

Andy here is a suggestion for the Napoleonic line, have you seen Britains Battle of trafalgar line with the cut away ship section with its crew inside manning the a gun, I love that piece as well as the British Marines 3 piece set any chance of navy stuff such as this. I would buy the sets but I'm a loyal K and C fan. It would be nice to eventually have more variety. Go to http://arquebus.com/brit_nelson/brit_nelson.html

Cheers

Ok the wish lists can be a bit boring (even more so than who has 503) but alas:

Fall of Berlin - General Henrici, SS Charlemagne Division, and Hitler youth.

Hi Y’all,

Here’s a few answers to recent queries on the forum:

1) The Sherman in The Bulge Diorama

The snow – covered Sherman is in fact, a plastic BMC M4 version which in turn was modeled on K&C’s first IWO JIMA release SHERMAN back in ’98.

2) The Background Diorama Trees

Well spotted, Brad, they are indeed ‘Dept.56’ trees.

3) Wellington’s Napoleonic Navy Stuff

Sorry, Wellington, there’s no chance of us doing more or newer ‘Nelson’s Navy’ any time soon. To be brutally honest it only has a minor commercial appeal.

4) Nmrock’s suggestions

I like the Fiesler ‘Storch’ idea and have thought about it before. I’ll put up your ‘Rescue of Mussolini’ suggestion for discussion at the ‘brain storming’ – who knows?

5) Mr. Gambale’s Wish (Demand) List

If I did everything this guy wanted when he wanted it … K&C would be bankrupt! Nuff said.

As Bugs Bunny would say … That’s all for now, folks!

Best wishes and … happy collecting.

Andy

Hi Andy,

Is there any possibility that KC could sell the Hachette FFL in the States or could we order them directly from KC Hong Kong?

Personally, I would like to see more solders related to the British Military (northeast frontier), and possibly some Ottoman turks for the WWI. I have had my fill of WWII figures, but this just me.

I have few Soldiers of the British Empire figures, would like more but they are hard to find in the USA.

Lastly perhaps KC could pair up with Osprey and start a subscription series similar to Del Prado, however, you could focus on a specific conflict and product figures of most of the combatants for a one year run, then which conflicts for another run.

Cheers,
Benjamin

Thanks Andy for your reply..figures I would be the only odd ball who would think navy stuff would be a good suggestion. I should have known when I collected military uniforms navy stuff had the least appeal. I just loved the way they had sections of a ship showing the crew in action. Guess thats why you own K and C and I don't.....

Cheers
Wellington

PS I would buy the sets from Britains but I've been spoiled by K and C and to me their figures look distorted as usual!!!

Hey Brian, you are not the only odd ball. I like navy stuff too!!! I also did not get Britain's Nelson pieces because of the sculpting. If K&C did vignettes like the gun deck scene at their current level of sculpting and painting, I would get them.
