Happy the country which doesn' t need a royal baby
Happy the country which doesn' t need a royal baby
I am curious please explain your statement.
Well, for many people here
There is something perverse in this thing,
so hated by his subjects as was worshiped his dead ex-wife lady Diana will hand the scepter.
The real mystery of the baby will be understood when it will be explained how it is possible, in the twenty-first century, that 77 per cent of the British people is in favor of monarchy.
Hey I'm a republican but I think the Royal Bub is a great positive thing to happen and your comments are right out of order and besides if you reside in Italy your mob might be way better off if you were still a monarchy considering your current and past rulers.Well, for many people here that spasmodic waiting, legions of photographers and cameramen in front of the hospital, the many articles on newspapers wondering about the "D-day", tabloids, British bookmakers who made a lot of money for betting on name, sex, weight....Televisions full of specials on real small, photos of children in lace and clothes and shoes and strollers. The hotels doing promotions related to the event and in London exhibitions dedicated to the Royal Baby in history, with cots and clothes of King George and Queen Victoria.... A real big business.
If Michelle Obama was pregnant, it would be a story point and end. This euphoria is for many outside UK incomprehensible. There is something perverse in this thing, and it is the expectation of the child because it will be a future King of England, admitted that the monarchy can survive when the beloved Queen Elizabeth will be passed on to a better life and Prince Charles, crackpot, extravagant so hated by his subjects as was worshiped his dead ex-wife lady Diana will hand the scepter.

I think maybe the royal family have had a bad run with Chuck and Cammy but the Queen and her two grandson's have done a wonderful job. Di was a most welcome fresh breeze for the royal family and her children and children's children will be what will make the royal family so popular for many years to come. Chris.
P.S AUSTRALIA FOR A REPUBLIC .
I'm all for self determination, but I would like you to stay in the commonwealth!^&grin

Hi Guys,
Re “Poppo’s” comments…Being British and proud of it…I happen to like the Queen and most of the Royal Family and welcome this latest addition to the “Firm”.
Like all families there are occasional problems and sometimes people get out of line but in general I, like the majority of other Brits, both home and abroad, prefer a non-political monarch as head of state to a party political president. But hey, that’s just me.
Furthermore “Poppo”, young George Alexander Louis will not be King of England but will be a future King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
One other point worth making is that many of the media scrum gathered around waiting for the birth were from outside the U.K.
God save the Queen…the young Prince and his proud parents!”

I want to send all my best to the new family and wish them great happiness together.I must agree it's splendid that 70% of the population want to keep the Royal Family rather than become a republic, and I'm one of them. :salute:: If other countries want a string of corrupt politicians as their head of state or folk who have sex with underage children that is their business. The Monarchy is a huge part of our heritage, tradition and history and long may it continue.
As Andy said they are far from perfect and I want to see them tighten the belt a bit and pay taxes in these difficult times, but I support them 100%.:salute::
I would ask Poppo (with great respect:smile2 as a non Brit, why it bothers him? (especially as 70% of the country want the monarchy??) Perhaps you have to be a Brit to get it? Maybe, maybe not??
The Jubilee , the Royal Wedding, the birth of Prince George AND the Olympics have contributed to a wave of patriotism and pride of nationality of late that is a joy to behold. We Brits are meant to be a bit reserved on that front, but lately its been ' stuff that' lets say it loud and say it proud!:salute:: Its all about pride in one's country and its history I guess.
Also some folk love all the Nazi death head, SS total crap , weapons etc etc, so being pro monarchy is not THAT weird (not by a long way{sm4})

Hi Rob,
what I wrote is a bit ironic and not to be taken too seriuosly; and I am not bothered at all, of course, it has to be taken like a joke....
And I don' t even dare to compare Italy to the UK or any other western country...And about the dirty italian entrepreneur-politician you mentioned, well, I will make a 3 days party when he should die...And in general, I am so ashamed to be italian, that I am the first to condemn the totally rotten country where I was born, a land that can not even be considered like a state, but like a land with no law, where the corruption and the mafia control has become the rule, and the legality is a more and more a rare exception
This could be politic, but it is just to express my thought....Enjoy the feasts in the UK, we all have to try to be happy for the things we like...
I am a monarchist and feel strongly that we should maintain our system of government although I recognise that other Australians may feel differently. Queen Elizabeth has been a unifying figure when so many leaders, both those democratically elected and the rogues gallery of misfits and murderers that grace any conference of world leaders, have left little that will endure.
The thought of an Australian President fills me with dread. It always surprises me that a country with a complex about its history would seek to discard the best parts of it.
