Ntetflix raises price . (1 Viewer)

I don't do Netflix, so it doesn't matter to me. I only do blu-ray
and the waiting time is too long. So I just buy what I want.

I really like Netflix because i can take a chance on odd movies i wouldn't be able to see other size. Netflix does unfortuantely advertize films they don't have and I have a 30+ film waiting list of these. I have recieved the price change notification and I'll drop the instant viewing because of that.

NFLX went intra day to an all time high of $304.79 per share...
closing at $298.73...
up $7.46 per share...
I sold mine at about $230 about 6 months ago...
I wish I hadn't...
their sales and profit are skyrocketing every quarter...
it trades at an exorbitant multiple of 85...
on paper it appears overbought...
but sales just keep increasing...
so maybe it's not overvalued...
the stock has more than doubled over the past 52 weeks...

I was really surprised when they raised my monthly rate by $4...
The new pricing will start for charges on or after Sept. 1 for existing members and immediately for new subscribers...

I'll keep it...it's a whole lot cheaper than the premium channels...which I still pay for anyway...{eek3}

To me what they are doing makes sense from a business perspective. They also understand that they may lose a few thousands customers in the process but they would still have 23M+ customers and to me they don't provide the same service as Red Box. I actually use both since they complement each other. I bought a bunch of Netflix shares back in 2009 and this indeed has been a great investment so far (+373% to date...). Hope this will continue :smile2:

I still subscibe to the old dinosaur Blockbuster but I don't know for how much longer.I liked them because they had the new releases the day they came out but lately a lot of them are on order or unavailable which tells me that their slide continues.

you're a smarter guy than me Grognard...I wish I hadn't sold mine...that's a nice return (+373%)...hope you bought a lot of shares...some of the analyst on CNBC today were predicting the shorts to start coming out...it's a little overbought with that high PE...but the consistent increase in quarterly sales may justify it...I believe I read or heard they were expanding into South America...good luck...
