HEY Looking good My Lord General ! Though the time lapse 'til I noticed your post reveals my a.w.o.l. The lads have cleaned up nicely and looks like you're managing the dreadful pegless bases admirably -that has got to be a serious design flaw.
In my defense,allow me to note that when bidding on that clansman wielding the Lochaber axe-I was unaware of his sans kilt status (the pic showed the components jumbled in a bag for pete's sake) there's sure to be a large hank of tartan yardage back up the hill behind him,along with his musket.My thanks to the sculptor for a long shirt

I believe in some situations the Scots took off the full plaid for easier movement and fought in shirt tails which what was REALLY under their kilts. The Plaid was a valuable piece of cloth. I've worn the full plaid as a reenactor once, it was borrowed, for Rev-War. The 17th -18th Century shirt has length enough for coverage as that was one's underwear before underpants.
