This is my first post, so hello everyone! My son and I have been avid collectors of King & Country WWII AFVs and soldiers since 2012. Fittingly, we started collecting with our first purchase of the Cromwell Mk. IV on 6 June. Sadly though, the Soldier's Story shop in which we spent many many hours browsing and learning so much about this hobby from the two guys who ran it in Singapore is no more. One highlight though was our visit to K&C HK in August 2013 where we met the guru Andy himself, who spend over an hour taking us around - a truly wonderful experience! Looking forward to meeting up with some of you at forthcoming toy soldier fairs or during our periodic trips back to Singapore. Lawson

Welcome to the forum Lawson, it's unfortunate that the Singapore store closed but it's great that you got a one on one with Andy in HK.

Yes I visited the Singaphore shop every day for 7 days a couple of years ago, really liked the layout of the store. Sad to see it go and the boys disappear. Nothing like a brick and mortar shop, not one in my home town of Adelaide. Welcome for the ride into the hobby of historic miniatures. Hope you enjoy this forum half as much as I do, a great bunch of collectors you will ever find. Robin.

Thanks Tom. Indeed, Mike and Daniel who ran the Singapore shop are great guys with a passion for the hobby and K&C. There is a qualitative difference in being able to view the models 'live' and to get first hand advice from people like them. Which is why I wonder if there are any collectors on this forum from Saudi Arabia (Riyadh) where I am currently based who would be interested to meet up to chat about the hobby or from Singapore/Southeast Asia for the same reasons, especially since I make twice yearly trips home. Best Lawson.

Spot on and thanks for your words of welcome villagehorse. My son Ryan and I browse the forum almost every day and we have benefited much from the wealth of knowledge and passion shown by fellow collectors. We are also hoping to touch base with the guys that used to run the Singapore shop - Mike and Daniel - and wonder if they still on this forum?

Hello Lawson,

A warm welcome to Forum. You may find this thread of interest.

It can be found in the King & Country sub-forum not far below yours entitled "Where to get King & Country miniatures in Singapore?"

Both you and your son would enjoy the King & Country "Gathering of Collectors" event in Singapore on 19 November 2016.

The event is organized by K&C HK and Andy and the HK staff are the hosts.

You will get to meet most of the Singapore and ASEAN collectors.

I hope this helps.

All the Best, Raymond.

Thanks for your kind words, Raymond. I saw the thread you mentioned and work schedules permitting, will try to attend the Singapore event on 19 November. Would be great to catch Andy, the KnC people and to meet fellow collectors. Also looking forward to new AFVs and soldiers, particularly new stuff on the Malaya campaign!
