HI guys:

I am considering selling the old Stalingrad K&C base. I believe it came out around 2000. I also have a red brick bridge that comes in two pieces that I bought several years ago at Gideon's old store in the Village (I don't know who made it, but it looks great for any diorama from Napoleon to WWII). Can anyone tell me what the ongoing price for those items would be? I am concentrating on AK these days and I am running out of space.

Gil

P.S.
The bridge is made of foam. I also have a bombed French house of the same material that would look great for any Normandy diorama.

Bridge is more then likely the Conte piece designed by Ken Osen from the Conte Playset DD#1 it has brought $150 on auction.

Here is a shot of the Conte Bridge, and their damaged farmhouse which may be the one you have. It reciently brought $285.

A Conte bridge was on ebay UK last week with a start price of £35. Unfortunately, didn't attract any bidders (I've already got one, otherwise I'd have been there). Not sure why, cause it's a great piece. Hope you get a good return if you decide to sell.

They made none specifically for Stalingrad but I took a look at the old brochure and what Gil may have is the diorama piece that goes with the old Roughrider series that was probably painted white by K & C. The catalogue number is DWT. Here's a link to the Rough Rider brochure.

Here's also a link to the Stalingrad brochure, which shows it to be the same thing, just covered in snow.

Brad,
Not true my friend; K & C did a large (2 feet by 2 feet) display piece with a command bunker with a roof, an artillery/small AFV fighting position and some smaller troop fighting positions for the Stalingrad series. Iv'e come into three of them over the years, sold one recently to a very good local customer of mine.

The rough rider one you are referring to was smaller and if you displayed two side by side and two more back to back for a total of four, it was about the same size as the Stalingrad piece.

I actually have a picture of it on my website, www.mmtoysoldiers.com/photos/pages/terrain/terrain/t4/06.html........

George is correct on this. I have the base myself in my collection. It is on my website as SP001 Strong Point in the Defence Works section. It is a large piece and is very nice.

Well, I've been wrong before and I'm sure it won't be the last time :D

Thanks for the clarification.

This is SP 01. Don't know whose hand that is, btw:D

It is the SP 01. I bought from Tradewind in Hong Kong probably in 99 or 2000. I think it was $125.00 then.

This last sold in March 07 and went for crazy money.

How crazy was crazy :D Might have a stab at making one,it would be a poor imitation but really like the layout and the concept of a strong point for display

I have one selling at $597, and another a while ago for $150. The one George had on his site was listed at $400 if I'm not mistaken.

$597 is right. There was one at $302, $325 and $416. I don't have the $150 one.

"The one George had on his site was listed at $400 if I'm not mistaken."

And that's the price it left the building for, as did the most recent one I sold.

Kinda wish I hadn't sold one of them as it makes a great display.................

Between Brad and I we don't miss many prices.......except when the old computer crashes!!
