Old Toy Soldier Auction...WOW! (1 Viewer)

Gents,

So, here is a SIT REP on todays Auction. This is my second participation (last year and this year) in Old Toy Soldiers Auctions and this year I was a little wowed. There were about 400 or so lots auctioned off today and the highest set I saw sold for was $18,000 for some sort of Britains Band...I think. But, for any K&C fans there was a 1997 People Republic of China Parade Army set complete with marchers, review stand, soldiers presenting arms that went for $6500. It had to have over a 100 figures and was super cool. I stopped bidding at 3K and it went to the high bidder of $6500. So, to whoever won that set, I salute you!

I won Patton, his Jeep and drivers! I had always wanted that set because I am a huge Patton Movie fan and I think I got a good deal. Mañana is the last day and I have a bid on a couple of items so wish me luck.

I am embarrassed to even tell you my thoughts on the PLA, as I never even got my keys in the ignition when the bid raced by me. I spent two days in front of my computer - my wife doesn't say much, but I know she thinks I am crazy. I took Sunday off and played golf.

So near as I can tell, the only item that I butted heads with anyone was the Trophy bus (Zach). I assume Zach purchased the Imperial Town pieces for Mom - I was the under bidder on them.

Peter,

If there was ever another "player" who would get the PLA it would be you, so I am surprised that you are not the lucky guy. Yeah, that set flew by and pidddly dollars did not even rate half of what it sold for. Bravo to that kid who won the set.

I will be making an order from you soon Peter...after vacation.
