Here is an interesting box I have never seen before. Also, What is Estiblished 1897 referring to? Thanks.

Yes, it has to do with the thickness. Some early sets came in thinner boxes (depth), while later green boxes are deeper.

Tom,

Brad has posted pictures of some K&C boxes.

I believe the type you are referring is shown in the 3rd Photo.

Thanks, Raymond.:)

Brad,

Thanks very much for the photos of the various K&C boxes.

Sorry to have had you go up to the attic at dinner time (EST).

I sometimes forget the time difference.

The Crown Colony of Hong Kong was established in 1897, that's what the box is referring to. That box is from the late 80's-early 90's. The print on the box of a victorian era battle appears on various K&C flyers, adverts, certificates and large presentation boxes.

I heard that putting the boxes in the attic was not good, however 75% of mine are stored in the attic and recently I got some out as I was selling some figures and they all appear to be fine.
If not for the attic I don,t know what I would have done with them.

I heard that putting them either is not good but, unfortunately, I don't have any choice and as it is the attic is getting crowded:eek:

Does anyone know what was the last WWII set that was packaged in the older green K&C boxes? Also was set ws042 in the Green boxes or in the newer wwII photo boxes or did it come in both?

the first time I saw picture boxes was with the towed 88 & prime mover
