Not on in Oz yet but time for a thread on it since there is a big advertising poster about it opposite my place of work ! Had not heard of it until saw that poster.

Anybody seen it yet ?

When the White House (Secret Service Code: "Olympus") is captured by a terrorist mastermind and the President (Aaron Eckhart) is kidnapped, disgraced former Presidential guard Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) finds himself trapped within the building. As the national security team scrambles to respond, they are forced to rely on Banning's inside knowledge to help retake the White House, save the President and avert an even bigger disaster.

Also stars Morgan Freeman (he gets around a lot) and Angela Bassett (a co-incidence as she is head of Secret Service and first actual female boss just been announced).

I`ve seen it Friday. Fun to watch, tons of nice action, but don`t expect a totally credible screenplay... :wink2: If this helps as a thermometer, my wife went to the theater grumbling, and left it saying she really enjoyed the ride! By far much, much better than the last Die Hard {sm4}

Seems my wife also likely to prefer this one to latest Die Hard. Seems Gerard Butler more of an
"attraction" than Bruce Willis ! I have seen so many ads on new Die Hard I am not that interested.

Highly recommended.

Probably a bit tough for a US audience due to high body count on the good guys side and some damage issues. Plenty of action and suspense.

Noticed an interesting scene which appeared customised to Australian audience. Was one of the TV news segments which here was read by a Channel Ten reporter with a big 10 logo. I am guessing they did the same for other countries and probably could even have been paid by the Channels for the exposure.
