I use a photo editing suite called ''PICASA 3'' from Google, it a free download and is easy to use.The effect you are refering to is ''FILM GRAIN'' and is one of many options you can use. Hope this is helpful,

Great photos and nice idea for a thread. My only OMG dio so far.
