Cheers

Another wonderful diorama as always,This is one of my favorites. Thanks for posting and keep up the great work.

Those Commando's are swarming all over the place, poorly defended port installation, but no doubt once the alarm is sounded things will alter fast. Looking forward to using 1-6 numbered buildings, very versatile. Nicely balanced diorama built by the master. Thanks for posting Gordon/Andy. Robin.

The wait is over and im not disappointed! The level of detail is incredible and definitely one of Gordon's best.

Very nice to say the least. Thank you for posting this, I enjoy it!

Unfortunately sad that I never see in real life the dioramas of Gordon ........ {sm5}

Very nice seeing the whole thing; beautiful indeed! The lucky collector who gets this one in Chicago will have one of Gordons best!

This is indeed hands down an awesome diorama display. :salute:: Sure many would love to have one like it !

Looks absolutely fantastic.Cant wait to see it in Schaumburg!!!

It is an absolutely marvelous display that I as a new modeler would hope to aspire to someday!! Mike

Hi Guys,

Several emails came in from collectors wanting a few more details about the “St. Nazaire Dock Raid” dio…so here goes…

The full size of the dio is 44 inches x 22 inches. Gordon took a bit over 3 1/2 weeks to complete it. All of the buildings are permanently fixed onto the jetty as are the little fishing boat and the British Landing Craft Assault boat. An extra little bit of trivia here…our late Dad served his apprenticeship as a boat builder in a little shipyard on the River Clyde during the early part of WW2.

This little yard was one of many contractors who built LCA’s for the Royal Navy during the war. Dad helped build quite a few of these before he joined the Royal Navy in 1942.

For sentimental reasons this particular dio is one of Gordon’s and my own’s personal favorites. We’re both looking forward to showing it in Chicago in a just about a week’s time.

Best wishes and happy collecting!

Andy C.

P.S. Look out for another Chicago diorama being posted tomorrow!

Andy am I right in thinking these excellent buildings will be released at some point?

Looking forward to it Andy and thanks for sharing the story about your dad. If the dio will be for sale at Chicago, I gather it will be difficult for you and Gordon to see it go.

Tom

Awesome dio Andy and Gordon. Wish I could be in Chicago to see it in person. Thanks for posting.
