Peter Cushing not only collected toy soldiers, he made many of his figures out of compressed drawing paper.

He was a keen military history reader. As the video clip (made in 1956) shows, he was very much into wargaming. His "bible" for wargaming was "Little Wars" by HG Wells.

I remember him as Dr. Who.

Loved watching Peter Cushing in the old Hammer Films when I was growing up. I didn't know we shared a facination with toy soldiers and history... Nice to be in that company...

I just heard a story on the radio about Fantasy author George R. R. Martin whose book 'A Song of Fire and Ice' has just been turned into a HBO mini-series is also a collector of miniatures. Apparently he purchashed the house across the road as an office and then filled all the other rooms with dioramas!
