A couple of days ago I joined WW2 Talk, which is a Forum dedicated to all aspects of WW2, and is extremely popular!
I joined and put up a couple of posts, one about this Forum and King and Country figures, and one requesting information about Operation Market Garden!
I got a reply from none other than a WW2 Veteran! He served with the 246 Field Company. Royal Engineers Third Infantry Division, and he told me that theywere nicknamed 'Monty's Ironsides'!
It was an honour to talk to him.
When King and Country brought out 3rd Infantry Division Figures, I wondered if they could be used for a Market Garden Diorama, as I wasn't sure if they were a Regiment involved in that particular Operation! Well now that I know this I am extremely happy!
Maybe Andy could make a set to commemorate the Engineers part in the Battles of WW2, invluding the leading assault on Sword Beach, maybe a tank like this one pictured below a this was used by the Royal Engineers
Also here is a picture of the 3rd Infantry Division memorial Statue in Holland!
