Here are a few pictures from yesterday:

Prussian figure (John mentioned the battle but I didn't quite get it - a small one involving a church if that helps):

Prototypes of the new Culloden figures:

Duke of Cumberland (prototype and new Dragoon):

Nice pics! The Kempf looks even better!

Any pictures if tge SE5 prototype?

Thanks for posting the pix. Lots of great looking stuff. Really like th Prussian from the SYW. Glad to see the black nose on the Fokker. Also glad to see so many mounted dragoons for the Culloden series. Great stuff coming! -- Al

Very excited about the SYW series. Did John discuss the extent of this series, adversaries?
The mounted dragoons are excellent as well.
I was always a "land warfare" collector but couldn't resist john's WWI planes.

If you look real hard you might see what appears to be a ranger with his dog (maybe the famous wolf/dog Sgt. Beaubien?). I'm having some technical difficulties with my camera - so hopefully Mike and others will post some additional photos from the show today. The SE5 is still in an unpainted prototype form (I can't find my picture of that). John mentioned "pusher" planes and Udet's triplane as future possibilities.

It was nice to meet our "snazzy" online pal Fraxinus at long last. I'm sure there were other Treefrogers there as well but's it's hard to know who they were. I would be remiss if I did not mention what a gracious fellow John is. A very nice guy who is a credit to this hobby. He spent a lot of time talking with myself and others and even remembered my name even though I had met him only once several years ago! A big thanks to John and I don't even have the words to thank him for the parting gift which is now the holy grail of my collection.

Thanks for posting the photos, great stuff!

The chuch mentioned may have been All Saints' Church, Witterberg . During the Pomeranian (sp) War the chuch was destroyed by fire.

The Pomeranian War was a theatre of the Seven Years' War.

I mean it is battle of Leuthen; the prussian seems to be from the regiment that storms the church. Looks great! Also the brit. cavalry! Again and again: JJD leed the bigger companys!

John indicated that he expected it be about the same size as the Battle on Snowshoes. So not a very large one. Some others here have identified it as the battle of Leuthen which rings a bell (so to speak) from what I remember from John's description. I'm pretty sure that's it. Here's a picture of the Ticonderoga dio from the open house:

Battle of Leuthen would be great - Frederick the Great's infantry assaulting Austrian troops in the churchyard.
The Prussian figure in your photo is very nice. Looking forward to the series release. Any idea when me might see the first sets?

I believe he mentioned something about early next year. The fact that the figure is already painted might be some indication to expect it sooner rather than later. I also understood John to say that the mounted Culloden riders and horses will come separately so you can pick and choose combinations.

Al- I did discuss with John the fact that the national markings on the Kempf plane were too far forward. I pointed out to him where they should be. It is a fantistically accurate plane in nearly every other respect. Not sure if it rises to the level of correcting though. But at least he is aware of it

Agree with you. Since the marking is correct, just a little bit mislocated (and it is just a little), I don't think it's worth trying to correct either, especially if the production run is underway. The Kempf tripe is really nice looking. -- Al

Wauw, fantastic pictures - definitely worth the wait :p

Love those charging dragoons, I count 3 different dragoons and 3 different horses (not including the Duke of Cumberland figure)!

And what a nice surprice, the 2 figures in front of the charging dragoons looks to be the first Royal Ecossais figures (first I thought, they were new Jacobite lowlanders, but they look very uniformly dressed, and seems to be wearing the cut down uniform coat, that the Royal Ecossais were supposed to be wearing at the time of Culloden):)

Great looking Sudan figures as well!

Nothing new here, but I found some shots I took of the Monongahela and Snowshoes dios at the Museum:

The more I look at the Prussian grenadier, the more I feel the need to collect another JJD line. {sm3} -- Al

I agree,
that Prussian Grenadier looks really nice.
I am very curious what we will get to see in this upcoming line.

LOVE the grenadier...

Looks like I will be collecting this series so I'm not sure how my NAPs will like this.....

Good news is the 7 Years War Soldiers are in a differet cabinet, so no fighting should occur :)

Actually 7 Years War in Europe come higher in my favourite eras to collect, but due to the limited range of figures, I venture back into Napoleonic, where there is a vast range to be had.

Now here's a quiz question..

What Regiment is the Grenadier from???

he has

a. buff trousers
b. red facing
c. red cloth with white lace and silver plate on the grenadier's hat

I'm at work now, so don't have my resources on hand, so you until tonight (morning in the US) for an answer :)

John
