Back in 2011, I started collecting 1/18 scale military after having purchased a few Hasbro Indiana Jones sets (Cargo Truck & German Soldiers). The collection quickly grew as I transitioned from Indiana Jones to 21 Century figures and vehicles. I then discovered Power Team Elite with fantastic accessories, tower, jeep, and building pictured in the background. Some custom decals were added to the vehicles for added detail.

This tabletop diorama was the finished result - ran out of space to add anything more.

Thought I'd revisit and share as I recently got back into 1/18th scale once again.

Brings back memories, had a 100 1/18th vehicles all sold to another local collector. Robin.

Everything looks very interesting...could you post a few more picture's....looks like a very interesting scale to collect...though the size would be a problem.....what is the length of any one of your vehicles so I can gather an appreciation of scale size...cheers TomB

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Thank you for the pics and measurements........they are large figures and vehicle's....jdeal...grandkids size toys...that scale is very attractive to young kids.....how expensive are the vehicles compared to 60/52mm scale .......I know they are lager,,,but...are they as expensive ?...size wise you would think they would not be cheap....like the figs and vehicle's...cheers TomB

Ultimate Soldier was the big 1/18 scale company. They offered numerous vehicles in this scale, including airplanes. The stuff is rather large so one needs a large space for dioramas (you'll see by my modest table that they take a lot of space). Prices now start around $50 all the way up to $150 approx. for some of their older tanks. Forces of Valor/Unimax also offers some nice figures and there's been a few more smaller companies that make 1/18. New GI Joe and Cobra are also 1/18 scale so one can mix and match brands.

Thank you.....it appears you get good value for your money.....having the ability to change pose's is a plus.....space is a problem...large...stacked shelves might help....6X4 ft stacked ceiling high.......I am think on that las I am beginning to make lager vehicles to play with...ie old fashion rocket ship ... loco,,,even vehicles .the scale is approx 54mm but the tend to large to be in correct proportion to the scale...cheers TomBlarge.jpg

I should read my text before I post.....my kayboard does not seem to type what I am thinking...something like that......will start again........I work mostly in 54mm...but...even in that scale vehicles etc are large...if in correct scale, so I am getting a bit short for space. ......am working on two idea's...box dio's that can be stacked on top of each other or stacked shelves......I am think the box dio's might be a better idea visually ....cheers TomB

I like your train scene Tom - I have an old LGB (G-scale) with just a few cars. I had always wondered what scale it might compliment thinking about 1/18.

Not sure what a LGB is ...I presume it is a loco.....what scale ?...I have a small collection of HQ trains.( Hence the sculpey made loco)..very old...I did have a reasonable large train collection at one stage....elect trains now are all electronic and a $1000 for a loco and upwards is outa my league....if the LGB is near the scale you are using I am sure It would look good...regards TomB

I used G scale for my 1/18 and it worked ok with the engine & flatcars. Carriage size of doorways were too small. Also works well with 1/30. Robin.

Thank you for that....very impressive AFV collection....I remember seeing this pic somewhere before and was just as impressed then as I am now....The "G" looks like an excellent scale for KC figures or any 1/30 scale figure's.......railways and tanks go so well together.....regards TomB

Villagehorse: that's a fantastic diorama. I esp. like the war room - very realistic scene. I recognize some of your pieces in the diorama like the Playmobil fence. Your train looks excellent as well. Nicely done, do you still have it displayed?
