Put in my 1st order, BBG 010, 017....doesn't really matter, they are all great looking !!!

I ordered my first one today. They look so good, but that price point is a bit steep for me, which is why I've held out so long. I ordered it and had it shipped to my work and NOT my home, can't have the Girlfriend asking TOO many questions.:p

It is a shame you are coming to the party this late as they used to be very affordable when they came out. But that is many years ago.

I hate that I'm late myself. Right now my (very SMALL) collection consists mostly of Britains with one or two Collector's Showcase pieces and one King and Country figure. I'm trying to diversify.

Even at todays prices they are very affordable relative to the quality. Further, we still have some 260 different foot figures that can be purchased today at under $55. Over 500 different figures for under $60. Almost 850 different sets at under $65. If you add the mounted figures that are priced similarly that number goes up to over 900 sets. So the ones that came out several years ago that are still available are extremely affordable particularly when compared to the prices of our newest productions, so he's not really coming late to the party at all and there is plenty for he and others to choose from at lower prices.

I appreciate how FL doesn't raise prices on older sets that have already been produced, and that's how it should be. When another prominent manufacturer started raising prices on their old stock I began looking elsewhere more vehemently.

I wasn't trying to squabble over the price and I'm kinda late to the Toy Soldier party in general. I bought more soldiers last year than any other previous years combined. I definitely understand why they are a tad bit more on the pricey side, the level of detail on First Legion's figures is breathtaking and WORTH (IMO) the price tag, I only wish I could afford more. I plan on saving enough cash up to have the whole British 5th Regiment by year's end and then I'll get started on the Colonial Dragoons.

I was talking the 5th only. And that argument becomes now moot as they are (mostly) sold out. So in order to collect the 5th, he is coming late to the party. I do not expect you to do another run of them.

But you are absolutely right, the back catalogue has grown impressively and offers a lot. I finished the Prussians and the Austrians as well as the 18th French. Also finished Carabiniers and Saxons. So I am proof that people can strive off your existing figures.

Actually, only 3 codes out of 19 are sold out. :) The AWI030 Marching figure, which is the core marching figure, as well as the Standard Bearers are still available so really you can collect a primarily complete set still (from a display perspective). And you are right, we won't make more of these....

Unless you’re a completist (plus have the room), I try to focus on a few representative figures.

Ordered (and paid) mine on the 25th of January and it still hasn't shipped...
