I remember the first time I saw these sets, the Chicago Toy Soldier Show, Andy had them set up on his tables in the hallway leading to the grand ballroom along with his spectacular Arnhem Bridge, it was at the time one of the coolest things I had ever seen.

Back then, glossies were dominant in the hobby, Andy was a trailblazer and he along with one or two other companies introduced matte finished toy soldiers....................I was a huge fan of the matte finished look, so I asked the dealer I was at the show with at the time as his assistant "Wow, look at those, what do you think?"...............his reply "M'eh; matte finish................that will never last"............

I returned to Chicago the following year as Minutemen Toy Soldiers.

He was out of business.

Funny that.

That spectacular bridge is owned by a former customer of mine, Boyd Moore sold it to him.

Boyd; you should have kept it.......................:wink2:

Had these been offered 10/15 years ago...........oh man, you could retire off the profits; oh wait, you're already retired Rich.

Never mind.........^&grin

I was a glossy collector for sure before these came out and not a big WWII collector. K&C changed my collecting interests and dominated my purchasing for many years. Now I am scaling back on my WWII to collect other eras. I enjoyed this series for many years but my children and grandchildren are not interested so let someone else enjoy them.

Hi guys, just wanted to say that I asked after 2 of the items and Richard was extremely accommodating. I would highly recommend dealing with him.

I was a tad worried as the older boxes never really keep the figures safe, but Richard had bubble wrapped each individual item up and every piece arrived safe and sound.

Would highly recommend dealing with this gentleman!

Thank you mate!

Scott
