Bodastone Photo Sculptors will be at the Chicago Toy Soldier Show at the Hyatt Regency Schaumburg 5th floor on Friday Sept. 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and will have a booth at Sunday's show.

Get scanned so they can turn you into a 3-D miniature! (You may bring helmets, hats, uniforms, etc. to wear for the scan.)
Prices start at just $35.00 for a miniature bust and $70.00 for a miniature full figure. (other options available.)
Sign up sheets for appointments will be available starting Thursday, Sept. 25 in Barzso Playsets Room 5101.
(A non-refundable $20.00 deposit, applied to the price of the scan, will be required for reservations.)

Hmmm, a sign of things to come. Could see a boom in diorama pieces in this format. Not sure whether we are ready yet for endless possibilities. Seems the only restriction might be money.{eek3}, Robin.

I have mixed feelings about this.On one hand this is amazing technology and could possibly lower the cost of figures.:rolleyes2:On the other hand I think about the sculpters who take pride in their work and have brought us amazing figures and have toiled long hours learning and perfecting their craft.I guess like so many other arts this may become a lost someday.From what I hear pretty soon people aren't even going to be able to write their name.Sad really.

Saw this same thing being done at last comic-con I went to in June. It was very cool. Can't remember what they were charging though. I wonder what scale the barzso full figure is being done at?

I understand where you're coming from, but I also have heard that some of the best 3D sculptors come from the world of traditional scultping. Just like any form of newer technology - it's here and it's happening.. what the long term effect of 3D modeling will be in our hobby remains to be seen, but I know that many companies, including Barzso Playsets (TSSD is another one) have been using some form of 3D sculpting for several years now.
