I just found out that you can save a fair bit of money by staying at the Amerisuite/ Hyatt Place across the street. They are having a Tos Soldier Show special. $79.00 for one adult in a king bed! Reservation 1(800)833-1516.
Yeah, I'll rent a room at my house for $50.00 a night, that's a deal.

Sounds like a good idea to me also. I would be more than willing to help out.
Why don,t the rookies who are interested get in touch with me or Wadepat and we can set something up.
Gary

Rod,

I am thrilled you are coming, my friend, and I look forward to meeting you in person.:)

Louis

Looking forward to you too my friend, I thnik be able to be there by early Thursday, Sep 24th.

Best regards

Rodrigo.

Despite many combat Missions in the West Coaster Theatre Of Operations (WCTO) this will be my initial appearance in Chicago with a Thursday arrival slated for rookie camp. I will be staying through Sunday in order to achieve veteran status. Looks like XMAS is coming early this year!

All My Best,
Marc aka Beaufighter

Wadepat, will you be going to the show?

Hi Russell,

Yes, I am planning to attend the show. I have made reservations for the hotel and I have purchased tickets to the K&C dinner. However, there are two situations that presently exist within our family that could potentially alter my plans at the last minute. They are:

1.) The early arrival of our first grandchild (birth is scheduled for the first week of October) and/or

2.) A significant health issue that might take a turn for the worse for one of our family members.

In short, if the timing works out, my wife and I will be there.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Well, I hope you make it, I promised you an Italian Beef.

Hi fellow Treefrogers,

I will most definitely be in Chicago for the show. I'm arriving a few days prior to the show for the room trading, as well as seeing some of the local sites. I've bought tickets to the K&C dinner and plan on attending the Figarti lunch as well. Hope to meet many of you good people!

Tommy

Altough this will not be my first time at the show, I hope to meet many of the first timers and many of the other forum members. I plan on being at the show starting on Wednesday.

I have also purchased tickets to the K&C dinner.

For the K&C dinner I notice some members saying that they've purchased their tickets. Does this mean many wives are present at the dinner? I could ask my wife if she's interested, but I wouldn't want her to be the only female there with ALL YOU GUYS :)

Hi Russell,

My wife and many other member's wives attend this dinner. She will definitely not be the only female at the event.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat ;)

My wife is coming too.

In the early days spouses rarely attended, then as more spouses accompanied their collectors to the show they were naturally welcomed and included to the dinner as well.
It is at this dinner that we have seen many spouses 'see the light' and realize that there are many many other people out there in the world that are just as enthusiastic and zealous about toy soldiers as their spouse. After mingling with other collectors over a nice meal and hearing Andy C. Neilson speak with such passion about King & Country, at the end of the evening they left with a deeper appreciation for both the hobby and the art that is military miniatures.
Can't guarantee it will work for everyone but if your spouse doesn't quite understand your zeal for toy soldiers this dinner is great therapy at a mere fraction of what couples counseling goes for these days :D.
