I think it must be your end. No probs with the photos on my computor.

So you won't have seen the photo of the 3 dozen new K&C British Paras then?
(Sorry, only kidding:p )

Re: OTSN Show Reports - Collector's Showcase

... He acknowledged scale issues and may consider modifying his scale to more align with 1/30 but admitted his figures will always likely be a "hair" larger than 1/30 ...
When I spoke to him, the owner of Collector's Showcase admitted his figures were 1/24th or 1/25 scale -- too tall to display with K&C vehicles but possibly O.K. in small vinettes where these figures are in the front of the diorama. I took the same pictures as Carlos, but from a slightly different angle (Carlos is much taller than I am :D ). The owner of Collector's Showcase said they would be releasing about 150 figures by the 2nd quarter of 2007 and vehicles like tanks to supplement his figures, though he may make them slightly smaller than 1/25. Besides more DAK, they would be doing 8th Army and German Fallschirmjagers at the battle for Crete.

Simon,

You trying to give me a heart attack?!

Did anyone see any forthcoming stuff from NMA?

Rob

I went to George's room several times from Thursday to Saturday, but did not see Blake from NMA. I forgot to ask George. Hopefully, George will see these posts and give us an answer.:)

I wonder what Collector's Showcase is trying to do. Zombies in WWII? In my opinion, there is a confusion of style. Never saw something so ugly. The guy with the map is frightening.

Pierre.

Pierre, very funny! (and accurate):D :D :D

From what I've seen here, the Collectors Showcase sculpting is incredibly ugly, with faces grotesquely depicted, as in a death mask, as if made from Soviet propaganda posters.

I liked the collectors showcase Afrika Corps 88 gun crew - I thought the sculpting looked good, but 1/24 or 1/25 scale is too big for me.

I met Blake from NMA (without knowing it at the time) and he kindly helped me find a gentleman with a 1988 issue K&C Zulu set for sale I was searching for based on a description by telling me where he had seen the gentleman. He seemed very nice. Sadly, I was told he was having real production problems and actually had approached King & Country to take over production of his vehicles.

Also, I was disappointed by the NMA Sturmtiger. It lacked the crain for loading the shells the vehicle had. Shannon told me this was due to production problems. However, if someone told me they were selling a tank without a canon because of difficulties in production, I wouldn't buy it.

Sorry to hear NMA are having production problems already,i wonder if this is because a lot of people are ordering his vehicles?

I asked the owner of Collector's Showcase about the sculpting and he said that's his style. He did not want to copy someone else's stuff. Then the same old line, "If you don't like it, don't collect it." I also personally agree that the faces are very garish, but I like some of the sculpting ideas. The figure throwing the grenade ... it has left his hand, but held up by the cord the soldier had to yank to start the timer.:)

I think the reason the faces look like they do is that they have no color in their eyeballs and there is no difference in color from their skin to the inside of their mouths.

Anything looking at you without eyeballs is spooky ...

Hi Fred,

The worst thing is that I never meant to be funny. They are horrific. With guys like that, the Nazis would have won WWII:eek: Pretty disgusting!

Although I may not like it, I do agree that everyone has to have their own style. You just don't want to copy what others are doing.

They found, for sure, the safest way for not being copied:eek:
