When I spoke to him, the owner of Collector's Showcase admitted his figures were 1/24th or 1/25 scale -- too tall to display with K&C vehicles but possibly O.K. in small vinettes where these figures are in the front of the diorama. I took the same pictures as Carlos, but from a slightly different angle (Carlos is much taller than I am ). The owner of Collector's Showcase said they would be releasing about 150 figures by the 2nd quarter of 2007 and vehicles like tanks to supplement his figures, though he may make them slightly smaller than 1/25. Besides more DAK, they would be doing 8th Army and German Fallschirmjagers at the battle for Crete.... He acknowledged scale issues and may consider modifying his scale to more align with 1/30 but admitted his figures will always likely be a "hair" larger than 1/30 ...
I wonder what Collector's Showcase is trying to do. Zombies in WWII? In my opinion, there is a confusion of style. Never saw something so ugly. The guy with the map is frightening.
Pierre.
I asked the owner of Collector's Showcase about the sculpting and he said that's his style. He did not want to copy someone else's stuff. Then the same old line, "If you don't like it, don't collect it." I also personally agree that the faces are very garish, but I like some of the sculpting ideas. The figure throwing the grenade ... it has left his hand, but held up by the cord the soldier had to yank to start the timer. From what I've seen here, the Collectors Showcase sculpting is incredibly ugly, with faces grotesquely depicted, as in a death mask, as if made from Soviet propaganda posters.
Pierre, very funny! (and accurate)

Although I may not like it, I do agree that everyone has to have their own style. You just don't want to copy what others are doing.
