Our Aussie Mates......... (2 Viewers)

Thanks Toddy mate,
A great doco about those three heroes of the Vietnam War. As an ex-member of the Royal Australian Armoured Corp I who like to personally thank them for saving the lives on that Centurion Tank crew and am disgusted with both the pinko leftist Governments of Australia and New Zealand of that time and now. How can a series of brave actions come under a quota system of medal allocation during a War and the present day. This stupid system also effected the medal allocation of the brave diggers who fought a the Battle of Long Tan.
Heroic behaviour cannot be based on a quota system. Three of our Kiwis cousins risked their lives to save an Aussie tank crew and only one gets a medal. Bloody disgusting.
Once again thanks cobber for the posting. Cheers Howard

I was very moved by that documentary and there would be lots of other cases where other serviceman haven't got the recognition they deserved. My opinion is that anyone who has served there country in active duty should be entitled to a pension for the rest of their life and any acts of bravery should be recognised and rewarded with the appropriate medals. Bloody governments and politicians should be made to honour our servicemen with the highest of respect as they are well compensated for their duties. Regards Sapper.

Unfortunately chaps Australia is heading in a bad direction where left wing politics, political correctness, racism towards anyone not indigenous is becoming the norm. Many servicemen that have fought for this country are not being recognized as they should while we have bludging parasites from all races being taken care of by federal and state Governments.

Really appreciate the feedback fellas and thanks to all the likes and those members who have taken a moment to have a look.

I thought it was a great story to tell and like some many acts of bravery in wartime, largely unknown and lost in time.

I thought it was timely to mention the ANZACs who served in Vietnam and excited to see K&C releasing some Aussie Vietnam troops in the not so distant future.

Hard to imagine the mentality behind the quota system for the allocation of medals but that's Politics for ya.

It was moving to hear how the Aussie boys had survived and gone on to raise families and live life as best they could under the circumstances.

Lest we forget.:salute::
