Bought a quantity of figures recently from a German dealer, made by OWN of which I have never heard of before. Under the base of each figure it says Own Figures, made in China 2002. Nice set of x8 Chinese Boxers plus a set of Japanese soldiers all in different poses. Pictures following of a Boxer figure which I have painted.

Each figure comes in its own little plastic bag, with most arms and weapons seperate ready to glue into place.

Figure as is, moulded in a rather strange colour, and then primed ready to paint

Great figures and paint job! I would love to see the rest of the group you have. Did you get these online or from a shop? I've heard of the company before - I think they did a set of WW2 Chinese troops.

Thanks for your comment, I actually bought them from a model soldier fair, couldn't resist them as they are so unusual. I must get round to painting some more.

Good stuff indeed - hopefully they will continue with more countries that were involved in the rebellion.

Sorry to introduce me about these OWN brand figures they are indeed Chinese soldiers for the first Sino/Japanese war, which is why the Japanese soldiers were done for too. (Could well be used and sale as boxer, same for japs too. Three more sets are available from the main sourse on eBay. More about the history of company could be found here in this link. I’m the seller of then. As sellss1 on eBay. You may bought it from Peter (Germany) who is a hobby/retailer.

Thanks for the information. Yes it was Peter i'm sure that I bought them from. He only gets to Uk once a year and I have purchased a good deal of items from him. The OWN figures are very good and I hope that I can get hold of these new additions to the Chinese nationalist range.

I've bought from him off ebay and he is a great guy to deal with. The figures are great. They require a great deal of assemblage but are well worth the effort. The Japanese and Chinese Infantry (from WW2) are not only unique (how many WW2 Chinese have ever been made in this scale, much less with German equipment?). Highly recommend these figures (and no I'm not being paid for my endorsement.. {sm4} )

Nice detail on the figures. Great paint job on the Chinese Rebel. Love the face and color choices.

Thanks, appreciate your comments. I do like these figures by OWN, I am currently painting some of the Chinese nationalist troops also made by them.

Please post the pictures after you've finished them Mike. I'd like to see more of your work. I tried searching over Ebay for these and I wasn't able to find them. I will try to find someone who ships to Australia. One question, how do they compare to Conte and Airfix figs? smaller, same, bigger? Thanks.

They are slightly smaller than Conte, probably nearer to the Airfix, as are the Japanese. The Chinese Boxers however are larger and pretty much match Conte for size and bulk.
