Just finished painting the first four poses of these fine figures by OWN ("Overall War Nation") depicting men of the 88th Division, Chinese Nationalist Army. Circa 1937, at the time of the Second Sino-Japanese War.

SUPER Good job!
I just set up a battle with those guys last night.

It was the OWN & 21st CENT TOYS Chinese vs the DEETAIL & TSSD Japanese. The Jap's won by about 4 men.
I never know what the outcome will be? Lots of fun watching the battle unfold!

Thanks Erwin, they are great figures to paint, I must get the extra artillery figures you mention. I bought mine from Peter(Germany) when he came to the plastic soldier show here in the UK around mid-May. I guess he will have some with him (hopefully). Please keep me informed of any other figures that you release.

Hi Mike
what were the mouldings like - ie were the weapons bendy and if so was it easy to straighten them?

Regards
Dave

ps - you are a really talented painter!

Hi Dave

Thanks, appreciate your comment.
The mouldings I thought were very good. As you know,or have read these figures come partially assembled in little plastic bags. The arms holding weapons, backpacks and bayonet frogs usually need gluing in position, no real hassle as the plus side of this is no unsightly blocking between body and limbs which is great. As with all plastics the rifles, bayonets etc are usually bent but the usual dipping in hot and cold I find does the trick. I use almost boiling hot water to set the position then dip straight into ice cold water and hold for a 10-15 second count to set off.

I will order some at some stage - I think that Steve Weston is stocking them in the UK.

Steve W (plasticsoldiers.co.uk) goes indeed now have these figures in the UK - so you don't have to go to NY just to get them like I did!

Can add that they are very greasy from mould release agents or whatever, but I found the 'over-night in vinegar and then a spray with kitchen cleaner' did the trick.

And also that they are IMHO splendid figures - sculpting is very crisp and the animation excellent too! My advice would be get them while you can because once they are gone they are gone.
