Only just started this after my son recommended it.
About Jason Bateman and his family having to relocate from Chicago to Ozark due to some unfortunate events with a Columbian drug dealer. Never a good idea to rip off your employer if he is a major narco.
Bateman is a money launderer who convinces the Columbian that Ozark is the ideal place for money laundering as it is away from the prying eyes of law enforcement. Only problem is he is set a deadline to "clean" $8 million and penalty for failure is death for him and his family.
There are a number of "issues" within his family. Naturally there is the obligatory FBI agent who is onto them and he also has "issues".
Ozark is "redneck" country and they also have problems with local criminals including one who Bateman employs.
Story is about Bateman trying to find opportunities to help him launder money and these include a resort, a strip club and building a church.
His wife is played by Laura Linney.
