Did I mention that I was looking for the 1st Figarti P-40 ??
excellent display there...
hope somebody will make the enemy - japan's zero fighters
Those are really nice Harry.Ron,
the one on the right is the original Figarti P-40B. The one on the left is the Dick Rossi version. The one flying over the airfield is 21st Century with Dick sitting in the pilot's seat.
Cheers

What are those figures on the AE11 stand ?

Nice aircraft. I have the newer D. Rossi plane and I think it is a beauty.
The P-40 is one of my favorite aircraft since I was a wee bit of a tad. I have a total of four P-40's. One is a 21st Century 144 scale, Dick Rossi, 1:32 scale and two are 1:32 scale 21st Century. Nick

What is the Frontline Set called ? Are they still available ??
Ron
Thanks Nasir,
When I get around to it I'd like to add a wrecked Oscar just on the edge of the airfield. Toying with the idea of adding B-a-R's watchtower as well - although I already have plans for it.
How's the weather in Singapore? It's pretty hot and sticky here in HK at the moment.
Cheers
H
Hi H,
i do think your ideas of the wreckage and watchtower are excellent indeed.
if you managed to accomplish it successfully, it will greatly improve an already excellent diorama.
but do you have the display space?
i saw your vast collection, the other displays and even the numerous SOHK, and am wondering if you are running out of display cabinet?
i do hope you will have the time, and space to successfully do it.
as for me i hope someone can make the zero fighter, so i can hopefully do a "History channel" diorama.
Ps - Singapore is hot, but after what our asian neighbours had gone thru this 3 weeks, we thank God and won't complain.
cheers H.
Sincerely,
nasir kasmani.
Nasir,
I'm not certain, but don't 21st Century do a Zero?
Thanks for the kind comments....We now have every SOHK piece that's currently available except the facades and the Chinese Bobby on his beat....still not sure if I'll get the facades.
Yes - HK is hot, sticky and pouring with rain right now, but as you so correctly pointed out, maybe we ought to just count our blessings.
I've only had Thai National News for the past 4 weeks and although the cyclone and the earthquake were reported, the sheer scale of what has occurred in Burma and China didn't really come across. I finally caught up with UK's Sky News and CNN yesterday. No matter what nationality, religion, race or creed anyone is - our hearts can only go out to those fellow human beings who have lost loved ones and continue to suffer from the tragic recent events.
Best Regards
H
Hi H,
1.The disasters.
the devastations were truly eye opening, how vunerable and small we are in God's scheme of things.
But living in Asia, these natural disasters are rather a yearly event, Asia is in the ring of fire after all.
The difference though regarding the last Tsunami and the recent earthquake in Sichuan, was the extensive media coverage (tourists video footage from the Tsunami, and the reporters covering the pre-Olympics).
The rest like the recent Cyclone attack in Myanmar, which have 100000 confirmed deaths, received less attention, due to the despotic military dictatorship (can somebody pls invade them and wipe out the Generals).
I just want the westerners to realize that asians are constantly hit by natural disasters, and desperately require technological help, for e.g. the early tsunami detection system.
2.Your collection
I totally like what you did with the SOHK, and was in fact rather surprise that you were missing a piece or 2. not for long i reckon.
I'm not sure about 21st century's Zero, but i was hoping for a K&C or Figarti quality 1/30 Zero. Though my family well suffered under the brutal Japanese occupation (ironically, they said they were freeing us from western colonists), i respect brave soldiers, and the Kamikaze pilots have a special fascination with me.
3. Thailand
I'm sure you are having a ball in Thailand.
Beautiful country, great food, great shopping, beautiful girls, err..beautiful boys (no, i didn't)..
very polite, and very, very hard to make them angry, unless you belittle their revered King.
My 3 gripes are that
1)for a city with so many temples, it sure is sleazy.
2)Cant drive around myself, most roadsigns in Thai writing.
3)what the hell do they have a Victory Monument there for? From my knowledge they kowtowed to almost all major powers they come across. China during the 1400s, England during 1800s, Japan during WW2, and America during Vietnam war till present day.
Unless i miss out something, they sure has some cheek.
My 2 cents.
sincerely,
nasir kasmani.
