P-51B Mustang (1 Viewer)

Hi Guys,

Many thanks for making our first Mustang a real winner… Now, a couple of wee points…

1. All Silver Finish…
To be honest lots of other companies have already done those… FOV… 21st
Century to name but two (I have them in my own collection). I kinda like the
old olive drab P51s… especially those early “B” versions.

2. One or Two Warbirds per month…
Sorry, I think not… more like one every two or three months is what I’ve got in mind.

Adios for now!
Andy C.

Thanks for posting Andy, theres no way I could keep up with two Warbirds a month!.

I wonder if Andy plans ahead to do two differently numbered planes as with the Hurricane,or is it a decision thats made on sales of the first?.The reason I ask is that two differently numbered Spits and Stukas would be so welcome and offer some superb dio scenarios.

He would have to make major changes to the Mustang to do this, since it has the markings of a specific pilot.

Isn't that just a paint issue? It's not like he would be changing the moulds to make a P-51D out of a P-51B.

Terry

The reason I raised this point is I have a great (in my mind anyway:rolleyes:;))idea for a dio featuring two Stukas and am hoping Andy may make them.

Well Terry,I think I've convinced my good lady into letting me move some bookcases downstairs thus freeing up some room in my office, charm you see Terry its all about charm;)

I tend to agree with Andy. Everybody and his brother has done "Big Beautiful Doll" in many scales in various quality. Enough already - there are lots of cool Mustang markings out there.

Personally, I would vote towards a red-tailed beast from the all-Black 332nd Fighter Group, the most famous unit of "Tuskegee Airmen". Another vote would go to the plane flown by Les Arasmith. He served in the CBI flying P51s in 1944-45. He spoke to our local model group and has a lot of great stories to tell. The plane isn't as colorful as some but is still interesting. He commented on the artwork of his plane that apperaed in the Osprey title "P51 Aces of the CBI" and mentioned some corrections. Quite an eye for detail.

Let's see. She will let you move heavy bookcases down a staircase with a bad back. Sounds like Wraith and I will soon be able to buy some older K&C pieces at a good price.:D By all means - add to your collection.

But--But :( Your airplanes are So Great looking, and by having 1 or 2 a month. at this time next year I am planning to have around 10 great looking and perfect planes. Please Have one on May's releases. I am guessing that you will have one by July. But june and July is just too long, For a hobby needs to be fed constantly or it wanes down. Please please please.

I like the olive Mustang too. I just don't have a silver one yet! And if that UPS truck would ever get here this evening I am supposed to get the olive one today.

I would love to see a plane every two months. More than that and it is hard to afford them and find space! I hope to buy a lot of planes, but I can't if my wife kills me.

Well, my UPS man delivered a beautiful new Mustang this evening. Excellent - and the packaging was first rate! It will look terrific with the two extra pilots that came earlier this week. And it will go right beside the Hurricane. Now, they await a Stuka or ME-109. Maybe later this week I will post photos.

I am Glad you have the same Opinion As I do. And I too am, hoping for the other two. hopefully Both by August. My airplanes needs someplace to land. So landing Strip will be My next Purchase. Will always enjoy, To see pictures OF the Any Mustang.

And also, Don't You Just wish It has a Bomber To protect. ;)

I was just thinking I would love so much to have a bomber. I would make room for a bomber somehow. And a silver Thunderbolt!!

Maybe later this week I will post photos.[/QUOTE]

Please,by all means, do...........

Received mine today. This is a fantastic piece. The best new WWII piece so far this year :) How about a polystone C-47 next !
