My wife asked me to see if I could find a good looking P38 Lighting. I was curious to see if anyone here might have a recommendation?
Thank you,
Josh

Josh,
In my humble opinion by far the best one made is Figarti Miniatures P-38J named Marge Item Number: PTA-012 which you may find at Hobbybunker for $379.00.

What scale? Figarti makes a beautiful 1/30 scale version of Bong's 'Marge' that I believe is still available from Treefrog. There are also several nice looking 1/48 die-cast models done by Armour that might still be had from die-cast dealers. -- Al

I would recommend the Franklin Mint version of there P38 as there a lot of choice , I had a D-DAY version and the photo rec one

Thank you guys for the responses! I'm thinking 1/30th so Ill take a look at the ones you suggested. My wife's grandfather flew one during WW2 in the Pacific and she wants a nice replica to give to her father on Father's Day as her Grandfather recently passed away. Thanks again everyone.
Best,
Josh

I agree that The Figarti is second to none. However, if you don't want tp pay that price go to Amazon and there is a really nice Mahogany one there with a stand for about 150 bucks. Regards, Larry.

Got one of this by Franklin Mint/Armour. The best in 1/48 scale. This model has been discontinued. Saw one on E-bay and sold for $120.

My favorite P-38 model is the Franklin Mint (Armour) 1/48 scale "Pudgy IV" of Tommy McGuire. I am waiting for someone to do McGuire in 1/30 before I shell out the big bucks.^&cool -- Al
