The Smithsonian Channel is premiering an 8 part series called 'The Pacific War in Color' on June 24 at 8pm. Looks to period color films, not colorized B/W, at least that's what it appears to be. -- Al

I read somewhere US combat photography, both still and movie, switched almost entirely to color film mid-to late war. Series should be good. Chris

Bummer ... I don't subscribe to the Smithsonian Channel. :redface2:
I have the DVD's WWII in Color and many other WWII Pacific VHS' and DVD's (in B/W and Color) but this appears to be a new production and release.

On YouTube you can find the: "NHK Documentary: The Pacific War in Color" by Kiwano on Vimeo. That is a "colorized" documentary and only about 49 Min in length See: https://vimeo.com/181867393

Hopefully, Smithsonian will release it on BlueRay or DVD sometime.

Thank you for the heads-up. Now to find a friend who has Smithsonian ... {sm4}
