K&C has made the Iwo Jima range, the question was asked of Andy at the Brisbane dinner...will it be continued? the answer was it didn't sell and was one of K&C least successful ranges participially in the U.S...go figure.
Wayne.

As an Australian I was very, very surprised when Andy said that Marines didn't sell as well as other ranges. I would have thought that they would walk off the shelves. He did add that even he wasn't sure why this was so and speculated whether it was the lack of interest in their adversaries. One of those mysteries!

This is a question he has been asked many times and one whose answer consternates him, particularly after the second release, which he thought (and most agree) was very well sculpted.

Well his sales figures don't lie. I guess it's got a lot to do with the blandness of the appearance of the Japanese army. Sure there were naval troops and paratroopers but generally their uniforms all looked the same. Airplanes aside, they had very little in terms of decent equipment too. Their tanks in particular were rubbish and there was nothing in the way of halftracks or self propelled artillery. So apart from Japanese officers waving swords there's very little that's 'sexy' about them as an enemy.

I see, and this is weird to me, considering that american collectors buy about their history and their soldiers...
