Hi John,

Holy cow! That is one super fine figure! As a painter, you have no superiors and darn few peers! Your work is very, very impressive and I appreciate you sharing your talents with us! Thanks a million for doing so!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

I'm most impressed with your painting skills. There are many excellent details. I'll just point to one. I look at the eyes and wonder, "It must have been difficult to get that right just under the bearskin hat. Good work.

Copuldn't quite make out the name engraved on the edge of the medals! First class job, VG and tick on your end of term report.

WOW.....I paint, dry brush that is foam buildings but can't get your level of detail.....I tried once to paint plastic world war II figures and gave up after a few attempts.......I assume that is a metal casting......You want to share as to how you go about this from start to finish for our benefit?????
Regards,
Canucks:):):)

Fantastic job, John! You've done a great job picking out the details, and with nicely subtle shading. Have you ever exhibited, say, at the BMSS?

Do you paint just as a hobby, or do you paint or illustrate for a living?

Prost!
Brad

Not bad for a first attempt John. Now that you've primered it, are you going to start adding the detail work?

Awesome mate. Love the wood grain, but great detail throughout, really impressive job, as we've come to anticipate from your work.
Chees for sharing the pics of the finished result.

Simon

Thats a big fella! Is it a white metal or resin model?

Nice paint job as usual :)

WOW John,

That simply is amazing, from the bearskin right down to those shiny boots!!! The new owner is going to be very proud indeed :)

Grenadier guards correct? Looks a bit like Bonnie Prince Charly to me :D

John,
Go into business, Please!:) Just Tops in everything you've shown us, and this beauty is certainly no exception.
WOW!
Mike

Most impressive, John,
and I sure like you having that new camera :)
It is a great pleasure to look at the various projects you're doing.
Thanks for sharing.
Konrad

Something tells me that your pretty good at this painting stuff. Awesome!

Hi Guys just thought Id post some more pics now the paints dried and before the new owner comes to collect it, the figure is solid metal and quite heavy to hold and paint, it was done in several pieces the head, the the body and arms and the drum majors mace with right hand attached. I painted it in mainly Vallejo acrylics, with some tube acrylics and Tamiya varnishes.

Regards John

Hi John,

My goodness! That is one of the most lifelike figures I have ever seen! Your painting skills are quite remarkable! Congratulations on an outstanding job! And,...thanks for allowing us to view it. It has been a significant treat to see it!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

John,

Everything Pat said in the previous post plus... just breathtaking. :D

I see that you use Vallejo paints. I've really been considering trying them out. I think that the main thing that is holding me back is that I'm afraid I like them better that my Humbrol enamel and with over 100 tins in my supplies that a fair amount of an investment. :p

Chuck

Wow! This is indeed professional grade job. Incredible attention to details and brush skills. Well done!
