Painting a German Schwerer Plattformwagen type SSy (1 Viewer)

I am preparing my new Battle of the Bulge dio . The German flat top railway carriage WW2 will be a part of it . I first painted the carriage in grey . When the paint was dry I gave it a wash of dark brown oil paint to highlight all the details . When this wash was completely dry I put all the decals on ( see picture 1)Then I started turning the carriage into an old and delapidated railway wagon.( see pecture 2)It is the Battle of the Bulge after all and the Germans had to scrape together all that was left of their rolling stock to transport men and equipment to the battle zone . (I did not yet start on the wheels) On the flat top I will put a "Flak Vierling" and much more of course .........

This will look excellent as usual when you finish Guy like all your work. I am currently arranging a camo armoured train, but it will not be as well done as yours. Robin.

I started painting the railway embankment. I first put a primer on . Then I used Humbrol Hellgrau 76 (HG3) for the plasterwork and Revell 76 for the brickwork. When dry I highlighted the bricks putting deluted Van Dyck Brown oil paint in the cement joints . When dry I started the painstaking work of painting the brickwork brick by brick using different shades of grey oil paint and some other colours ( cold grey, warm grey, Payne's grey, greenish umber, ivory white, goldocker and Van Dyck brown) will keep you informed about further progress
