Painting Faux Bronze Finish (1 Viewer)

As I need a little background item for a planned vignette I bought a cheap stature on Ebay.
I painted it in gloss but the effects will work in matte as well. I emphasized the painted areas a
little in order to keep true to the glossy character of the planned vignette. Painting went on really swift but you got to wait for the paint to dry between coats. It was great fun to paint and I am pleased with the result.
The new alcohol based paints I got from GREEN STUFF WORLD proofed to work very well as metallics.

Looks Great Wolfgang,
I wanted a similar effect on my Kaiser, and was pleased with my result, done by just using Vallejo greens to the tone I wanted for the verdigris, with a smattering of white specks for the Pigeon poo !

Dam though I visited this City a few times in the eighties,, I never noticed it, though I must of passed it interailing across Germany and Austia, but that's another story !

Sorry to hear about that. But I guess it comes with being at "interailing-age" that you miss out on things or simply can not remember later. At least it does proof that one has ever been at interailing-age!
I went through all of this in the 70ies while touring the beautiful south of England. That led me to Canterbury in Kent and I learned about one of the very interesting parallels between Canterbury and Cologne. Both cities where bombed in the war years, and in both cases romans mosaics where discovered in the resulting bomb craters. Both cities build their roman museum on top of those after the war. Cologne is alway worth a visit and from here it is only a 10 mile drive (via the very first Autobahn on German soil, or via rail) to Colognes pritty little sister, Bonn. I live here, so give me a shout when you are in the area.
