As I go through my 'load of lead' I have been slowly painting some SERIES 77 figures that I have acquired over the past 5 years or so.
This is a change of scale for me, as I usually only paint 54mm, but its a welcome change and worth the effort to being them to life.

Most are Napoleonic and were made by Pat Bird in the 1970s. and when I got them they came in various forms, from castings to badly painted assembled figures, and so far I have completely stripped the paintwork and then repainted in my style.

The first back from last year are these : Life Guard and 95th Rifles officers, 95th Rifleman & Royal North British Dragoon

I have recently completed another five British infantry soldiers. four from the 4th (Kings Own) Regiment of Foot and a Sergeant from the 71st (Highland) Regiment of Foot (Light Infantry)

and the other figure I have was painted 2 years ago, Prussian Garde du Corps Officer- Court Ceremonial Dress c1900

At the moment I have another 3 French soldiers on the desk, getting their own 'lick of paint'

Light Infantry Officer, Fusilier Drummer and a Line Infantry Sappeur

I'll post images of these when completed, as well as the remaining 6 or 7 French Cavalry figures as they are completed.

Like them

All the serie 77 with a thin base are the first edition of early 70ies made in England, they were sold mounted ( soldered ) and primed
Later Mr Bird migrate to USA and production there wqs made with thick bases in kit form

Great eye candy !

I particularly like the dragoon on the right in the first picture.

Looking forward to seeing the rest of these tall chaps when they are fully revived.

Hi John,

Sheer indulgence! That's the best way to enjoy the hobby...hahaha.
Very crisp painting and the figures really look excellent as a group.

Just so can see what some of the figures looked like before my repaint, these are the ones that I had to strip off the paintwork, and give a new coat.

The others came as undercoated castings.

I hope to have 3 French Infantry finished tomorrow, so watch this post ....

then it will be French cavalry

Here is another one, a Pioneer that I found recently for sale in UK.

He arrived a month back, done is mandatory 14 day quarantine before being cleaned up, under coated and painted.

I think that about ends my collecting of these guys, so it will be back to 54mm
