Well, I have started painting my figures, and if you have seen this thread...
http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/fo...-Primer-for-Plastic-TSSD-Soldiers!&highlight=
... you will see that I ran into a little bit of primer trouble!!
Oh well, I am hoping it wont affect the miniature and that once he is painted all will be well. I will just have to wait and see.
However, after yesterday's discussion on the other thread, I went home to see if any of the gray paint I had used was "cracking" off !?
I had used two coats of paint over the weekend (after the primer). The first coat was just regular gray paint. The second was the same gray with a touch of blue mixed into it (that made for a much better dark gray color). However, as I painted it on, it didnt appear to be any different in color than the first coat!!
So, I went home yesterday to check to see if any of the paint had cracked. I didnt notice any cracking, but I could easily tell where the gray paint was and the mixed paint was. Once they dried, it was very easy to see the difference and it does not look good at all!! So, it looks like I will have to re-paint the coat again!!
However, this time I just broke down and went online and ordered a jar of Tamirya Flat Acrylic Paint (Color - Field Gray). I am guessing that will not only look great, but will probably be best for the miniature as well (at least at this point).
*sigh*....just another day in the life of collecting and painting, and wanting to get it right!!
