Painting? (1 Viewer)

I might try painting some of my plastics the way Jenkin's figures are painted with the minimal washes and shading.

Somebody said - I think here - that the Armies in Plastic FIW figures are replicas of the JJ line produced with his permission. Looks like it to me!

That would be a great place to start your painitng. Thinking of this myself to extend my present JJ FIW diorama.

For us kit painters, with the average price of a 54mm kit from Andrea, etc. topping $50.00, you'd be money ahead if you bought the JJ figures, stripped and repainted them.

Yes I collect FIW kits and they are getting quite pricey. They aren't cheap to get painted either as I'm not a painter.

You folks that collect limited edition painted figures have my respect. I'd be too worried about dropping them or chipping the paint to enjoy them.

Learn to paint, Mark. It's the most fun you can have with your clothes on! :D It's really not that hard if you are content to learn as you go and do not expect Bill Horan (famous miniature sculptor and painter) to be asking for advice after seeing your first piece. It's never too late to have a happy childhood!
