I had an opportunity to get this one at a very good price so I jumped at it - It may be the only Honour Bound armour I ever own.

How does it compare in size to K&C Summer Panther WS072 and Jagdpanther WS059

Terry

Comparison with WS59:

And another:

IMO, they fit just fine together, although as you might expect, the K&C piece is brighter in it's colour scheme.

The HB Panthers are some of my favourite pieces. If you get the chance to bag any of the others, I would. I really like the fact that you can us the 421, 422 and 424 Panthers together, as each is slightly different (apart from the numbering ;))

Thanks for the photos. They do go well together. Normally I would have checked first, but I had to act fast to get the Panther. Paid US$120. Should get it late next week.

Would love to get the HB 76mm Sherman (either the one marked E1 or Al Capone)

Terry,

At $120, I think you got a real steal. Nice one! As said, they are superb pieces. I got the 'Al Capone' Sherman, and again, it is a fantastic tank.They do occasionally pop up on ebay, as do the occasional HB Jagdpanther, but they are few and far between.

I'm confident you'll be very pleased with the Panther when it arrives.

Cheers
Simon

Great armor. If you get the chance to grab an HB Jagdpanther, do it. It and the Panthers are superior models. They go very well with KC AFV's, too. -- lancer

I recently picked up another five Honour Bound vehicles I didn't have as a gift from a friend to whom I had passed along a K&C "First of the Few" Battle of Britains Pilot Set (htey have not yet arrived), and I now have just about every vehicle Honour Bound produced (the only exception being the Gold Edition Sturmtiger), and often several paint schemes of each. They are truly exceptional armored vehicles, nearly on a par with Figarti's exceptional vehicles. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Sounds like you have too many. I still have one display spot open. :D:D:D

I am really looking forward to getting my first HB armour.

Sorry Terry,

I like mine way too much to part with them. With the five on the way, I will have the following:

The three original Panthers (Barkmann's Troop);
Summer and Winter Bergepanthers;
Winter Panther;
"Al Capone" Sherman, customized with Honour Bound Foliage Camouflage and accessories;
Normandy and Winter Versions of the Amphibious Jeep;
Winter "Damaged Panther";
Two Color Jagdpanther;
Winter and Summer Horse Drawn Field Kitchens;
Gold Edition Snorkel Sherman;
Gold Edition Tiger.

The only Honour Bound vehicle I have no version of is the Gold Edition Sturmtiger. These vehicles are works of art, and it is a shame that Honour Bound couldn't find a way to keep them in production.

I ordered US Amphibious Ford G.P.A. Jeep - Green & black Camo - late version and German Field Kitchen & Food Line-Summer, on sale from Treefrog and was very pleased at their quality when they arrived. Waiting for my resupplying Panther. I believe I can still get the Bergepanther in Canada but it is expensive at US$245 (CAN$300). Is it that good a model?

The Bergepanther is the finest non-gold edition vehicle Honour Bound produced in my opinion. It is nearly on a par with the Gold Edition vehicles for quality. I would highly recommend grabbing one.

We're going through some old HB boxes right now, and we have some older items (many Bergepanthers) with varying degrees of damage. In fact, we have a few that Ana and Daniel brough to the Chicago show to launch that vehicle, and when they arrived in Chicago the crane had broken off. Daniel then worked to make it look like the crane had never been added, and they look great.

We'll work to get some images here in the next few days.

I agree Louis. I have both a summer and winter variant.

The beauty is that 2 tonne crane was removable on the real vehicle and is often seen without it.

No comparison between these tanks; the HB Panther is by far superior to either of these K/C models IMO......I have the HB Winter Panther and the HB Winter Jagdpanther both are excellent......The K/C WS059 is a bland un-interesting item (it is my least favorite K/C Tank).....the WS072 is OK......Other K/C tanks have "improved dramatically" in quality and detail such as the Tunsian Tiger and the FOB Panzer IV and strongly rival HB's armour......................HB really raised the bar a few years ago and K/C responded.......I wish that HB would return to making armour vehicles at an affordable price.....The Gold Series was just simply unaffordable for most folks......IMHO

Now I am really broke. I have managed to get my hands on the exact HB Sherman I wanted and could not resist the Bergepanther (only the autumn camo was available) and both at reasonable prices. So now I have 3 major pieces of HB armour; the Resuppling the Panther, the autumn Bergepanther and the E1 Sherman, all purchased in the last week.

Thanks for your encouragement to get them. They will go well with my new no food diet. :rolleyes:

LOL - welcome to the "joys" of collecting ;) :D
