Panzer III Ausf J (Late) Pre-Order (3 Viewers)

Some info says they were 3 or 6 Ausf F in Sturmgeschütz-Batterie 90 of the 10.Panzer Division (detached from Sturmgeschutz-Abteilung 242 in Russia). I have seen another source claiming they were 4 Ausf F/8 which landed in Tunisia in November 1942.

In addition to Sturmgeschütz-Batterie 90 these Stugs were also refered to as selbständige Sturmgeschütz-Batterie "Afrika". The model description appears to be based on veteran accounts. I haven't seen any photographs.

I haven't seen any photos either or any "official" reference. At that point in the North Afrika campaign, not all of the ones shipped may have arrived?

So how do you like the 232 Rick? Could you post a photo of it. I'd like to see how you have it.

Brad,
I am really impressed with the 232. I have the Grey version and it immediately became one of my favorites of the many different vehicles that I own from different manufactures. In fact, It may be the most finely detailed vehicle that I own. I bought the AK figure separately, mainly to evaluate the new subcategory and I was well pleased with the quality. I'll be getting the AK 232 version soon.

My most recent FL purchase was the Plancenoit European Village House and wall. The building is phenomenal with layers of remarkable detail inside and out. The large building is about 20lbs and quite impressive. I debated on whether to get the wall but I’m glad I did. The wall is also superbly crafted and designed for a variety of display options with the Village House or in separate settings.

I’m working this weekend and will try to post some photos of the 232, the Plancenoit European Village House, and some close-ups of the AK figure sometime next week.

Hi, Rick,

Absolutely not, the DAK range will go forward with additional releases and I'm sure we'll do a Panzer III version for it. I guess I misspoke, it's not that we're not sure if we'll do it, it's more that it's not in the pipeline yet. We have other things we're doing first. ;)

Best,

Matt

Matt,

That is great news! I have been in awe of your figures, vehicles, and buildings since ever since my first purchase of the Stalingrad series. You must have one heck of a design team. I am really looking forward to the new DAK range!

A small number of short barell Stugs were with the Afrika Korps at Alamein - where they were all knocked out or abandoned. The long barrel Stugs were only deployed in Tunisia.
