I plan to purchase a 1/30 PK IV; however the three available Figarti, Collectors Showcase and King & Country all differ in size. Figarti appears to be the smallest of the three but seems to have the most detail. A photo comparing the Figarti and new CS side by side on the CS thread show considerable difference in length and width. Which of the three manufacturers product is closest to 1/30 scale? Thank You

Wherever you had posted this would get a different view have not all manufacturers stated they are 1/30th? It will at the end of the day be down to your own personal taste and budget as, they differ in price substantially.

Much to the horror of some each have detail faults and each have there detail plus. The money is in your pocket and your eye will draw you to the one you want regardless of size.

I don't think a picture has been posted with all three side by side to date (though I may have missed it) would be interesting to see

The Panzer IV dimensions are Length 5.92m without the gun, width without schurzen 2.88m and with schurzen 3.33m. At 1:30 scale these 3 dimensions are 197mm, 96mm and 111mm. My measurement of the Winter Figarti model is 198mm, 100mm and 115mm. That's almost dead on 1:30.

But it is a moot point anyway. The Figarti Winter Panzer IV has been long sold out - try and find one. The desert Panzer IV is still available but I haven't measured it - it's in a display and too hard to get at.

The K&C Panzer IV's probably vary in scale with the older models close to 1:32 and the newer ones close to 1:30.

Which Panzer IV models are you actually thinking of?

Terry; Thank you for the data. From photos I prefer the Figarti primarily. They turn up on Ebay from time to time. The new Collectors Showcase model is interesting however in comparison photos with other AFV's they seem oversize! I own the CS Stug and Tiger and both measure correctly to 1/30 scale. I wish for the PK IV to look correct with these pieces. Thank you for the advice.

Terry; two items of interest. A Figarti Winter PK IV sold on Ebay last week for $156.00! I found a photo on the forum showing the new CS PK IV side by side with the Figarti Winter PK IV. A top view photo which showed the CS PK IV to be substantially larger; probably about 1/28 scale! Regards

Cheers:

Yes, the Figarti PK IV did sell for c. $156.00 but it had one broken part and a missing support for one of the armoured skirts resulting in that lower sale price. It is without a doubt one of my favorite AFVs in the collection.

Hang Tough!
