Has anyone bought the painted versions of the Apaches from Paragon? If so, how do you like them? Anyone painted up any of the mounted poses? Any pictures?

How about the painted 7th Cavalry poses? Thank you, Andy

As I am painting up some Buffalo Soldiers, at the moment, your post interested me - so I popped Paragon Toy Soldiers into the magic machine - and had a look. Found the range - and also a pic of some painted ones that they can provide ( some on special offer at the moment too).

As this hobby is far better in "visual" form - I've copied it here - to start you off. And very nice they look too. johnnybach

Close up the Cavalry castings have too small heads and too flimsy weapons. I can see conversion possibilities with TSSD parts and pieces. It's a lively series with some pretty good Apache figures.

I Have just had another peek at their web-site Scott, and whilst I can see what you mean about some heads with a few of the figures, I note that in their "Coming Attractions" section, they have some mounted US Cavalry figures which are aimed to appear at the Texas Toy Soldier Show.

I'm not really a great Plastics fan - although I have a few - but some of the poses look darned good to me - so will await some "Happy Snaps" of these from some kind hearted soul around May?

This would certainly be a great (and very reasonably priced) way to obtain a superb looking "Last Stand" feature of US Cavalry and Apaches. At these kind of prices, you could even let the kids play with them.

I may have to keep an eye out for a few of these. Thanks Andy, johnnybach

For those following along at home ;) here's Paragon's website: http://www.paragon-scenics.com/miniatures/Home.html

I can see some distortion or misproportion to some of the figures, not so much that the heads are too small, but rather, they look "pinched" to me (any "Kids in the Hall" fans out there?) Still, they're very animated. I agree, Scott, they'd make good starting points for conversions, though, the painted samples look pretty good, too.

Prost!
Brad

They look like the paint up well. Nice to Apaches over the usual Plains Indians.

Thanks for the insight. Here are the pictures of the painted Apaches from the Paragon website. For under $7 a figure, they seem to be painted up pretty good to me. What do you think? Thanks, Andy
