I saw the early samples of the Apaches and cavalry Troopers at The Hobby Bunker.

The weapons are a little thin. You'll need to straighten them in hot water or replace them with TSSD spare weapons. Heads are a little small on the Cavalrymen. The Apaches look pretty good. I can see them fighting the Steve Weston Mexicans!

I agree that the weapons are "finer" than the ones on the TSSD troopers, the Paragon ones are probably closer to true scale - TSSD often tends to have "chunky" firearms. You are right that one or the other needs to be changed to look really right together. Biggest concern for this old gun nut - the TSSD are all carrying Colt cap-and-ball revolvers. By the time of the Custer battle the Army had issued cartidge revolvers, most often the Colt M1873. I agree that the heads are a bit small on the Paragons, but they are nicely detailled. Still, I'm glad they are close in size to the TSSDs so we can swap parts and cross-kit the figures.

Well yeah...photos are from TSSD but I held the little guys in my own hands at the Hobby Bunker. They weren't for sale yet.

I'm not so keen on the faces of the Apaches - at least as far as the pictures show - they seem too Caucasion? When I first saw them I thought they were gauls or highlanders or something European. Perhaps I'm just caught up with the Timpo Apache faces.

Might be Jeff Chandler and Paul Newman were the models...

Yes I do! He was picked over Anthony Quinn to play Jim Thorp, All American.

Some very worthy names (and movies!) Remembering the photo of Geronimo though, Charles Bronson in 'Chato's Land' was probably closer to the mark.

I am anxious to get me some of them and
convert to mounted.
It will give me a break from my Marines.

Mounted conversions! That's a project. Be sure and show us.
