Greetings
Pay Pal has denied me payment for a purchase, today.
They said that I have reached my "Sending Limit".
In order to raise that Sending Limit, PayPal wants additional
specific banking information from me.
I do not want to provide that information to them.
My Pay Pal account is paid fully by credit card each month.
Has anyone else encountered this obstacle ?
Thanks much

Is this your limit for a 24 hour period ? I had an issue several years ago trying to pay two venders on the same day. I just called them and they raised it for me. Haven't had a problem since. I though you had to link at least one bank account to your PayPal account. Your CC is usually the back up. I may be a different case since my account is a business money market account. Most of my credit card transactions go into this account so it usually has a large balance.

Pay Pal said my Sending Limit was $3,500.
It took me ten years to reach that amount.
I do not recall setting any limit when I originally registered.

That is odd. The order usually is PayPal first, bank account second, and if the bank account is short they go to the credit card. Maybe the issue is the cc limiting what they send to your PayPal account. Possibly a security issue to protect against fraud.

I had to provide a bank account and cc as the back-up. I always use the cc when paying. I have never had the type of problem you are having with PayPal.

I suspect that they track various data about each account, including dollar amount and transaction count, and that if you have numbers that go over certain levels, they want to move you to an account where you're liable to have to pay higher fees.

Prost!

Once you hit $10,000 in purchases without a bank account. They force use to add a bank account. Also they typically default to the bank account for payment if you do not have idle funds available as opposed to your credit card. Albeit you have the option to chose either card or bank account. Technically you could remove your existing credit card and create a new email address and start all over again with a new account...

Ditto. I have both but try to keep enough funds in my account so I never have to hit the backup funding source.

Pay Pal wants my Bank Account numbers.
I will not give them that information.
My credit card has been sufficient until now.

Now, I will either find another venue to spend or
I spend less.

Thank you for all your input.
