Sometimes PayPal requires confirmation as to identity. I suggest you call them to discuss. Regardless of PayPal, having a cell phone is having a good home, particularly when you are not home.

this happened to me also yesterday when I tried to log in...
I didn't want to share my cell with them as I don't want to receive their text alerts...

I entered my landline phone number instead...
as it's not capable of receiving texts...

within 5 seconds my phone rang and there was a recorded message with a 4 digit code...
I entered the code as required and got access to my account...

if you don't have a cell phone...but do have a landline...try this...

Your last sentence is a bit confusing, anyway thanx for response.

Whenever I log into Paypal, it asks me to verify my cell phone, BUT, at the top is an "X", just click on it/close out the window, then you can log in.

Not sure what the problem is here.

Somehow the last part was garbled. What it should have said that having a cell phone is a good idea, especially when you’re not at home. It’s almost a must.

Or when the power goes out

Ummm..............charged them on his car charger...............

Got me there amigo. But riddle me this: Why is my PayPal account always "suspended due to suspicious activity" no matter how many times we fix it. It is in that state at this moment. So are we to never use PayPal because some KGB agent hacked us?
No joke, seriously friend, it's weird.
Any comment is welcome

Those "suspended due to suspicious activity" notifications are phishing scams, don't reply to them or do what they ask you to do no matter what.

You're welcome.

Paddy...
George is telling you right...
they are fishing for a reply from you to hack your account...
either delete them without opening or if you do open them...
forward them to spoof@paypal.com
not that your forwarding them will stop them...
but if you look at the email address before you open them...
they are easy to identify as phishing attempts...
it's a funky fake email address that looks phony...

Thanks! Very helpful as always.
All the best to all!

If you don’t recognize an email sender, don’t click on it. If an email looks like it’s from a site that you regularly use, like PayPal, log onto the site. If everything looks ok, move the email into your spam folder.

I'm always getting emails warning that my someone has attempted to hack into my Facebooks account. I don't have a Facebook account. LOL. Chris

I keep getting e-mails that say "To stop these e-mails, respond to this message." Yeah, right.
