Plastic Underground has some of his new Persians listed on e-bay, check out seller vikingpope, they look pretty good to me.

Already watching ;).
I've just ordered a batch of Conte Arabs with the intention of converting them to '300' style Persians.

Should be interesting, I'd like to see those. I trust you'll post pictures.

Sounds like a dauting task, now how many Persians were there? Are you going to do the other 7,000 or so Greeks? Could be a life's work.

Will do. Just finishing off 13 Spartans first (287 to go )

Wraith, Are you painting the PU Spartans? How do you like'em?
I found some Atlantic Greeks on ebay and a, going to paint those as allies.

I also found some very cheap, decent figures from a David and Goliath playset
144 figures for $16.00 shipped. Robes . shields and spears plus archers. I'll try and use some as persian Auxillaries. Might have to do a little converting.

The PU Persians look pretty good, look like easy and fun to paint.

I have some of his figures painted, not Spartans, but they really look sharp once they are painted.

Fub,

Yes, it's the P U Spartans and I'm v. impressed. I found having to fill the air holes in a bit of a time consuming pain, but can't be helped. Nearly finished, just got to get a bit of shading / highlighting on the cloaks finished, do the bases and I'll get photos up. They're just itching for some Persians to stick those bloody great spears in to though, so I'll be starting on some of those next.

I hear it from a good source there will be more Spartans joining the fray.

A Happy New Year to you as well Jeff.
PU is Plastic Underground
Jason Pope sculpts and produces plastic figures as a past time. His Spartan range is very nicely done

He also produced the catching a cannonball guy that is in the picture on my profile. This particular one was converted into a Mexican for the Alamo, Incidentally he does have a nice Alamo range that should be expanding in the near future. I know someone sent him some sketches that's he's eager to try and make.
