My band is only 137 men strong. Can you imagine that in the good old days (way before the peace dividend and amalgamation ) there were 8 Foot Guards participating on Horse Guards Parade with the massed bands of the Guards consisting of about 350 musicians? And that this band had to wheel when the no 1 Guard was marching towards the Colour? Those were the days although Trooping the Colour still is a magnificent spectacle to watch. I don't have BBC but the Germans are crazy about royalty, so I can see it on the German television.
