Photos - Lunch with Figarti (1 Viewer)

...Steven do you know what the lead time is?
I was told that Figarti is currently working on 17 LCT's with plans to produce more only when an order is placed. In other words, out of the initial stock of 20, 3 were sold at the Show, 13 are spoken for in pre-orders, then there is my order, that leaves just 3 from the initial stock that could be shipped out in a week or two. The lead time for future LCT's appears to be several weeks.:)

Very cool, are you going to customize yours in any way? Special number,

ship graffiti? Any idea where your going to put this monster? Four feet

long.......wow!

Tons! If you look at the photos, you'll see a lot of figures.

Are there any figures that come with the boat??
Bill W
The LCT comes with 10 figures. Looking at the "Stun and Awe" display, I noticed there was lots of flexibility with the poses, with one of the loader figures also able to be used as directing traffic on the boat.

I was one of the lucky whom purchased one of the three LCT's at the show. Shannon, Pete and Mandi - are shipping it to me this week. I do not think I wanted to carry it on the plane.

I already cleared the lower shelf on one on my cases to hold the beauty. I think I will order a matt from Build a Rama with specifications to fit my display case. I truly was in awe of this item. Brad hit on it , it was very quite at the luncheon, I think everyone was truly impressed and nearly speechless.

If anyone had any doubts , Figarti is a player in the AFV ranges. The scope of items produced is daunting for us collectors.

Other manufacters are taking notice imo.

Congratulations to Rick and his team ( Peter ) for helping me secure one of these LCT's at the show.

I will send along some pictures this week or next when the ship arrives.

Rick was concerned about the reaction after the walls rolled back to show the Shock and Awe display because it was not the same as the last two years, this year there was just silence and not the past vocal gasps and comments. Now, it was not a complete surprise since Rick revealed the LCT in his slide presentation just before the wall was rolled back. Like Greg, several collectors mentioned they were simply speechless at the entire display. Figarti finally had a "shock and awe" product that complemented the releases with the unified theme of "D-Day + 1.":)

Well he is concerned about nothing. The LCT is the best shock and awe piece produced by far IMO and that opinion is shared by many people I spoke to at the Show. Having 3 of them in a huge display took time for people to absorb what they were seeing. It is the first piece that can be used by a collector in a major display incorporating their other AFVs. Look at how fast the 3 demo models sold and how many orders he got.

If Rick want's something to worry about, he should worry about what shock and awe piece he can come up with at next year's show to match this one. :) Good luck Rick :)

Terry, I completely agree with your well made statement.

I'd very much like one myself, I'll ask Santa....

Dear John,

I think I am going to go with the stock LCT. Figarti really hit a "grand slam" with their research. I goggled the "LCT 811" and found the reference picture I think they used to put the "Half Hitch" cartoon on the wheelhouse. I could not find any other pictures of any LCT with an distinctive art like this so I am going with this one. Does anyone know the significance of the "Half Hitch" term?

I can only think that the term Half Hitch is the same applied to a type of knot. Which would then make sense in a nautical term.

half Hitch is a simple easy to tie and easy to release temporary knot used to tie a line to a pole or railing and can be used with other types of knots for special purposes. It's probably a joke on the temporary idea.

I may be being thick here (cue Kevin, Rob, Jeff, Clive et.al.), but why the German cross marking above it?

I really don't know why you Brits believe everything I say :D Who would name an LCT after a knot as a play on the word temporary :p:D

Half Hitch was an always in trouble sailor character created in the 1940's by Hank Ketcham, the creator of the Dennis the Menace comic strip and
was the naval equivalent of the US Army's Sad Sack character or Willie and Joe. Note the pair of dice above his hand, the look on his face and it looks like he is about to punch someone.

The German Cross above the character (location being equivalent to a ship's bridge) is the Battle Star earned by the LCT for it's participation in the Normandy landing at Utah Beach.

Terry, good one but,

Sorry to disappoint but did not believe the knot theory:D

However, now you admit to fibbing us over that, how do we know the cartoon bloke and battle honours are real?

AND - how come he has his D-Day battle honours on D-Day?

Best, Kevin
