Hey all,
I got a very cool item that matches the premeir WW1 series, never saw it before, had to pay for it, but really interesting to do battle with! It is the Charles Biggs German Tank A7V [Hagen] "Totenkopf" 1914

Let's see if I can get the picture right.

That's pretty neat Tom. I know that Old Northwest is planning to make one soon, hopefully this year.

Yup, I saw the Northwest ones, I like the mother male and the German. BUT I must say regardless, I still like Charles Biggs stuff, it just has that nostalgic toy soldier feel to it.

But I must say, the price is better at Northwest!!

Hi Tom,

That was a great find! Those dont come around too often. I havent had the luck to get the A7V so I am envious!

Where did you find it?

All the best

Dave

Did you buy that at Valley Forge show.......I saw one very similar, but was in an armored car buying frenzy........Michael

I take it these are extremely rare, hence the apparent high cost. When were they made?

Well,
I finally bit the bullet and bid at Vectis. Yes they are very rare, made by Charles Biggs circa 1999 when he left Britains. I think there were very few made and the retailed at 150 British Pounds (and up depending on the shop) back then. Again, this is info from my recollection of a conversation with Ron R. from London Bridge. Obviously it goes with Britains Premier b/c designed by Biggs Premier (one in the same!).

I know the Northwest will be much cheaper and I will get them too, but their is something about Biggs work that always caught my eye.

I am happy............and poor.

Tom

Congratulations once again. I'm sure it will mean a lot to you. The only thing about Vectis is that they are slow so I would bug them a lot. I bought something from them once and it took a few weeks to get it.

Hi Tom,

Well I am glad that I apparently lost that Vectis Auction to someone from the forum, it is worth every penny! The numbers made were very low and I think they only produced it for that year and maybe slightly in 2000 but not too many were made. I am very glad you got it! I just got smoked on a Vectis Auction for some Marlborough Durbar sets that went for more than retail. Amazingly the sets are still in production so I guess the guy who won had to have them.

I am also looking forward to the arrival of the ONW A7V and I hope more of the tanks produced by France and England.

Have a great evening

All the best

Dave
